I was really excited to hear that Skinceuticals had released the Metacell Renewal B3 lotion this year.
To me it sounds like an amazing all rounder and I was so excited to give this a try. The brand claims
While signs of photoaging appear at different intensities according to skin biology, lifestyle, geography, sun protection behavior, and skincare regimen, they have a multiplicative effect, creating a prematurely-aged appearance. This comprehensive daily emulsion visibly improves the appearance of the early signs of photoageing by increasing EPIDERMAL cell turnover to resurface skin, help reclarify and even skin tone, and improve the appearance of wrinkles and surface elasticity.
I decided to give this a go for a month before giving feedback. Here is a breakdown:
Skinceuticals Metacell Renewal B3 Packaging
This is a glass bottle, quite heavy and looks a little medicinal in style. It has a pump which I appreciate as I really dislike using jars for hygiene reasons.
Skinceuticals Metacell Renewal B3 Application
I use one pump on my whole face and that is actually more than enough. I smooth it over my forehead, cheeks, jawline, chin and neck, avoiding the eye area.
Skinceuticals Metacell Renewal B3 Scent
There is a slight scent but nothing too overpowering. It’s not an unpleasant scent thought, almost floral.
Skinceuticals Metacell Renewal B3 Texture
There is a smooth consistency which feels lovely over the face. However, I can tell it has silicone in it and that seems to be the reason behind it. It also has glycerin which means it can help as a base product before makeup.
Skinceuticals Metacell Renewal B3 Ingredients
There are a number of ingredients but the main ones do seem to be Dimethicone (Silicone) and Glycerin.
Aqua / Water Glycerin, Dimethicone, Niacinamide, Propanediol, Dimethicone/Peg-10/15 , Crosspolymer Methylsilanol, Silicate Crosspolymer, Sodium Chloride, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Phenoxyethanol, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Ci 77163, Bismuth Oxychloride, Chlorphenesin, Caprylyl Glycol, Sodium Citrate, Ethylhexyl Hydroxystearate, Peg-10, Dimethicone, Disodium Edta, Cellulose Gum, Laminaria Digitata Extract, Adenosine, Citrus Aurantium Amara Flower Oil / Bitter Orange Flower Oil, Melaleuca Viridiflora Leaf Oil, Tetradecyl Aminobutyroylvalylaminobutyric Urea Trifluoroacetate, Linalool, Cymbopogon Flexuosus Oil, Citral, Limonene, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil.
Skinceuticals Metacell Renewal B3 Results
Personally I haven’t really seen much difference to my skin. I was hoping I would see a reduction in pore size but that hasn’t really happened. Also, I was hoping that I would notice improvements in plumpness but that wasn’t really apparent either. This is a shame as the online reviews on retailers websites are generally positive.
I can’t say it won’t work on wrinkles as I don’t have many and I am not particularly blotchy so wasn’t able to see any change there. You can find Skinceuticals Metacell Renewal B3 to order online here
