Sisley Paris Ecological Compound is one up there with the brand’s best selling skincare products. In fact, they sell a bottle of the original formula, which launched back in 1980, every five seconds. New for 2023, we have the upgraded version, called Sisley Paris Ecological Compound Advanced Formula. Here’s what you need to know.
What is Sisley Paris Ecological Compound Advanced Formula?
The original formula launched back in 1980 and it was created to be a skincare saviour designed to balance, strengthen and revitalise the skin with a blend of plant extracts.
It was ahead of its time with its focus on the skin’s ecology and the vital balance of good and bad bacteria. Its key ingredients worked on equipping the skin to best protect itself from external factors and optimising skin’s innate immunity.
The updated knowledge of the skin ecosystem based on 40 years of scientific discovery is now reflected in Sisley Paris Ecological Compound Advanced Formula.
If you love the original already, you will find it very similar in terms of experience and texture (although very slightly lighter and more matte in finish), however, its benefits have been amplified.
What has changed with the Sisley Paris Ecological Compound formula for 2023?
The new Advanced Formula focusses fully on the microbiota and skin immunity and features two new key ingredients:
- Burdock Extract – works to promote the balance in the microbial flora using inulin (a prebiotic sugar) which is used by good bacteria only
- Meadowsweet Extract – works to strengthen the skin and boost its immunity by stimulating the synthesis of natural antimicrobial peptides which, in turn, supports defence against pathogenic micro-organisms and limits the spread of back bacteria
In addition to these two new ingredients, Sisley has enhanced the efficacy of two major active ingredients in the compound:
- Centella Asiatica – new cutting edge extraction process to create a purer, more concentrated extract (by 3,500 times) to further support the skin’ barrier function
- Hops Extract – super antioxidant with rich mineral and amino-acid content
My Review of Sisley Paris Ecological Compound Advanced Formula
I love this product because it is so easy to use and will fit into any skincare routine. If you use any active serums, this is the ideal moisturiser to strengthen the skin barrier, defend it from environmental aggressors and ensure it functions as it should.
When the skin is perfectly in sync, it can take advantage of all the skincare you use and it means that all your skincare steps are able work as they should. If your barrier function isn’t supported, then anything you put on the skin won’t be able to work properly.
Also, the Sisley Paris Ecological Compound Advanced Formula has a pH that’s a close match to the skin, which means it maintains the skin’s natural balance and allows other products to do their job.
In terms of texture, it’s so lovely to use. If you have previously enjoyed the original formula, you will not be disappointed, although there are subtly perceptible changes. It is very slightly lighter in feel and is a touch more matte in finish. It does, however, still allow your skin to glow.
