Many people who have naturally curly hair also have naturally very frizzy hair. This is especially the case if you live in a country that always has moisture in the air. Whilst England can be humid in the summer, in winter most of the moisture comes from our endless drizzle!

Curly hair is beautiful. I personally love my natural curls so I avoid using heat on my hair where possible to avoid damaging them. But I too often fail to have beautiful, flawless curly locks due to frizz.

Shea Moisture Shampoo

However, I have recently started using the Shea Moisture Fruit Infused Coconut Water Weightless Shampoo to help combat this frizz without weighing my curls down. It’s light and lathers very quickly. It has a very light, subtle smell that’s not overpowering. In use, a little goes a long way.

Included in the product are Dragon Fruit, Lychee Berry and Green Apple Extract. These work together to nourish and energise lifeless hair. At the same time the manufacturers claim that vitamin-rich Imbe Oil helps to block humidity to help control frizz.  The Aloe in the formula also adds shine but without adding too much weight which can drag curls down.

Next I use the Shea Moisture Fruit Fusion Coconut Water Weightless Creme Rinse. Despite being called a creme rinse this is a conditioner. Just like the shampoo, it also has a light smell and includes Dragon Fruit, Lychee Berry and Green Apple Extract.

I found that what works best is to apply a generous amount to your hair and then comb through . Leave it in for up to 3 minutes and then rinse.

After I come out of the shower, I spray the Shea Moisture Fruit Fusion Weightless Texture Spray into the roots and all over my hair then comb through. To enhance my curls I scrunch them gently with a towel. This helps define my curls but lets them retain their natural body.

My Thoughts On Shea Moisture:

Shea Moisture hair products are sulfate free and colour safe. These are also paraben, phthalates, propylene glycol and mineral oil free. They are of very good quality, don’t contain any harsh chemicals and leave your hair light and shiny and frizz free. I have found these products work well with my curls as the Imbe oil really helps to combat frizz, however there is a also a Shea Moisture range specifically designed for curls and I plan to try that next!
