The latest launch from nail giants Sally Hansen is a pretty impressive offering in the UV-free gel manicures category. Here’s the lowdown on Sally Hansen Miracle Gel.

So Miracle Gel is a salon performance super shiny gel manicure that doesn’t require curing with UV light. It is a 2 step system that, in the crowded at-home gel-alike market, is claiming to be first of its kind formula that employs a part-lacquer and part-gel composition to deliver a 14 day manicure with intense pigmentation and super shine!!
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel 2 Step System
You can achieve this 2 week gel mani in two simple and convenient steps:
- Miracle Gel Colour Coat
- Hansen Miracle Get Top Coat
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel – Patented Technoloy
The Sally Hansen Miracle Gel manicure contains patented Tube Technology which “allows a higher level of actives and continuous care ingredients to release into the gel lacquer film” This means that the gel film can remain perfect for longer resulting in an even longer lasting and hard wearing finish.
A bit more science if you are interested? Both the Colour Coat and Top Coat formulas contain an oligomer (just looked this up and still have no idea what it is but basically a key ingredient in UV nails). The Top Coat also contains a photoinitiator. I understand the photoiniator part – it is used in the process of polythene plastic production and basically activates the colour coat to transform it into a gel finish without the need for UV.
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Removal
I am told that removal is a cinch and you will be able to change your colour as often as you like. This is music to my ears because I love a gel finish but hate being tied down to one colour for too long! I end up ripping them off and destroying my nails!
Miracle Gel can be removed with either an acetone-based or acetone-free nail polish remover and there’s no need for soaking, or wrapping, or any of the other annoying things that gel removal usually entails.
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Shades
So this is also pretty impressive. Sally Hansen have piled in on the gel nail market with 47 news shades across 7 colour famlies. And they look so good!
