Rimmel really know how to do great mascara at great prices and so I was really keen to try out the latest launch on the lash block, Rimmel ScandalEyes XX-Treme Volume & Length Mascara.
It promises to stretch lashes to the max delivering high-impact volume and dramatic length for a 360 degree eye-opening look.
Rimmel ScandalEyes XX-Treme Mascara – The Brush
It has a two-sided dual action brush that has been designed to thicken, lengthen, and separate the lashes for a real false lash effect eye look.
It has an arched side which has tiny two-pronged bristles to load on the product and deliver maximum volume. The flat side has longer teeth to visibly lengthen and define lashes whilst avoiding clumps. The combination ensures that every lash is captured and coated from root to tip, including the teeny tiny ones.
Rimmel ScandalEyes XX-Treme Mascara – Before & After Photos
Two coats, both eyes:
It’s a lovely super black formula and the brush really loads on the product for maximum impact. There’s no natural look here, just really intense and stretched out lashes. As I applied, I noticed that the formula seemed stretchy, much like the Clinique Feathering Mascara but with a more full-on effect.
This was my first attempt and I failed to read the release with info about how to use the brush, but next time I will use the flat side first to lengthen, and then load on extra volume with the arched side.
Rimmel ScandalEyes XX-Treme Mascara is available form 31st December 2014 at Boots. It is £6.99. Rimmel Exaggerate Smoke n Shine Liner launches at the same time.
