It was love at first sniff with Replica Under the Lemon Trees from Maison Margiela. It is fresh, bright and perfect for summer.
What is Replica Under the Lemon Trees?
Described as a Male and Female fragrance, this eau de toilette has been designed to conjure up the feelings of strolling casually through a field of brightening lemon trees in Palermo in 1987. I’m not sure if I have ever had that stroll but the scent on my skin certainly sends me somewhere idyllic.

The story continues, “pausing for breath in the shade of their refreshing green leaves… Dozing off for a moment against their dry bark…”. It’s all about the good life.
The Notes
A sharp scent composed as an imaginary lemon tree:
- Top notes – refreshing & invigorating scents of citrus
- Middle notes – Coriander, Mate Absolute, Tea Leaves
- Base notes – Cedar and white musk

It’s a sparkling, bright fragrance that I instantly loved. It is something I’d wear but I love it even more on my boyfriend, who has snapped it up to be included in his extremely curated collection. Not many scents make it on to that shelf these days!
