Pur has brand values that encourage women to be active, healthy and positive. They are also 100% cruelty free, and they have just launched a My Little Pony range (I want the entire range!). How awesome does Pur sound? I am fortunate enough to have been given the opportunity to review their newest Velvet Matte Liquid lipsticks.

Pur Velvet Matte Liquid Lipsticks  – Shade Number 1. Ever After

Admittedly from the colour on the lipstick box I had thought this shade would be slightly ‘’nuder’’ (I think I may have just invented a word there). But a deep purple tone runs throughout, meaning that unfortunately this colour was too dark for my milky pale complexion. However, the colour is stunning – and can be great for those who want to venture away from typically brown nude shades. My only criticism is that I had to apply a few shades, and upon first application there were patches. Apart from that, the colour is deep and matte; without being too drying.

Pur Velvet Matte Liquid Lipsticks – Shade Number 2. Obsessed

Okay so this colour made me look like a real life Malibu Barbie, perhaps a little too pink for me. What I found a strange about this shade is that the colour on the lipstick box has coral tones, but when applied the lipstick is just straight up pink? Again, I was impressed with the pigmentation and lipsticks staying power. Although this colour is not for me, it would look stunning on others.

Pur Velvet Matte Liquid Lipsticks Shade Number 3. Fever

This shade was the darkest and most daring. I really adored the intensity of this colour, deep red with tones of brown. Just to reiterate, you must apply a few layers in order to avoid patchiness; aside from this the colour stays intense throughout the day, and isn’t drying as you would expect.

Pur Velvet Matte Liquid Lipsticks Overall Thoughts

I really love the boldness of these shades, and the matte but not drying consistency of the lipsticks. They are slightly more difficult to apply than other liquid lipsticks – but that could be due to those shades mentioned being darker. To avoid patchiness, apply several layers and seal with a matching lipliner. I bet these lipsticks will be amazingly popular! What a steal at £16 each! Find them here
