I’ve always loved the world famous Elasticiser from Philip Kingsley so when I heard he was launching the new Philip Kingsley PK Prep range of styling products I couldn’t wait to try them. The range consists of 3 new products which can be used individually to create different looks or used together for maximum effect.

According to the press release PK Prep is “scientifically formulated to build the foundations of perfect hair. PK Prep uniquely cares for the health of the hair whilst helping to deliver session-quality styling results”

Described as the ultimate styling spray this spray contains ProVitamin B5 to condition without adding weight. It also protects against heat damage and UV- perfect for warmer days when the sun is higher so hair and scalp are more at risk.

A Glycerin, Xylitol and Lactitol complex assists with soothing and hydrating the hair and scalp.

Polymers build root volume and anti frizz protection for the mid ends.

Lastly the signature PK Elastin to add strength and provide volume.

I used as directed after gently towel drying my hair. I didn’t blow dry as I try to let my hair dry naturally wherever possible. The scent of all the products is beautiful as the range is infused with Cherry Blossom notes. Upon waking my hair felt very soft and supple and had less obvious fly-aways.

Philip Kingsley PK Prep Plumping Cream

A volumising and thickening cream. Designed to replace mousse the plumping cream contains a Vitamin complex to care for hair (B3, B5, B6, C and E). A wheat protein trio conditions and adds volume. An invisible protective shield surrounds the hair providing shine and controlling frizz.

Surprisingly for a volumising cream the recommended application is to the mid ends and ends. When used in combination with the Perfecting spray this product ensured that the humid weather and heat we’ve been having didn’t have their usual effects on my hair.

Philip Kingsley PK Prep Polishing Balm

The balm transforms into a serum when warmed in the hands. Silicone is used to add control, however it’s a lightweight silicone to prevent the hair from being weighed down. Again ProVitamin B5 and Vitamin A again provide nourishment.

I wear my hair in a ponytail for work and the baby hairs around my forehead can be quite obvious. I dislike using hairspray to control them. I applied a very light layer of the polishing balm apprehensively, I was concerned it would make my roots greasy. I was impressed to find it didn’t.

In conclusion I was delighted with the results and will be incorporating these products into my routine with the Elasticiser to gain maximum benefits. I feel this will be great for the rest of the warm weather but will also protect my hair when the harsher winter weather comes.
