It’s so exciting when an already iconic skincare product gets an upgrade and that’s exactly what’s happened to the Origins Plantscription Multi-Powered Youth Serum. It now has 6 new peptides, Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid and more to deliver even better anti-ageing results. Here’s everything you need to know.

The Plantscription franchise from Origins has been around for as long as I have been blogging. The focus on plant-powered actives was way ahead of its time and the serum quickly became a best-seller.

How Has the Origins Plantscription Serum Been Upgraded?

The original serum used a super effective cocktail of targeted anti-ageing plant extracts, however, it has now been rebooted with six new peptides, along with Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid and Commiphora.

Key Ingredients

Joining Origins’ 16 Plant Actives and hero ingredient Anogeissus, which helps support skin’s natural fibrillin (for elasticity), is:

6-Peptide Blend

These peptides, which work on strengthening the skin and boosting collagen production, combine with Plantscription’s 16 plant actives. Together they are a serious force to be reckoned with when it comes to wrinkles, elasticity and hydration.

Niacinamide

What’s extra special about the new formula is that it also contains Niacinamide which is super compatible with lots of active skincare ingredients. Niacinamide performs brilliantly with peptides and Hyaluronic Acid, both of which are included in the new formula.

Niacinamide helps to reduce the appearance of pores and refine the appearance of skin texture for a more even-looking skin tone. It is gentle enough for sensitive skin. What’s even more interesting, is that many studies have shown that Niacinamide improves the skin’s tolerance for retinol, so this is a perfect serum to use at night before your Vitamin A products.

Hyaluronic Acid

The Origins Plantscription Multi-Powered Youth Serum contains low- and high-weight HA molecules to provide instant and long-lasting hydration.

Commiphora

A resin extracted from a tree native to India, helps to support skin’s youthful look.

It just launched here.

My Review of Origins Plantscription Multi-Powered Youth Serum

The texture of this serum is wonderful. It is instantly soothing, plumping and quenching and it delivers a youthful glow right away.

It has a very light gel-serum consistency that absorbs into the skin really quickly, leaving a hydrated, silky feel that sits perfectly under any other product I have tried.

Its ability to layer easily is key, because it means you can literally slot this into any skincare regimen, and it’s wide inclusion of different anti-ageing ingredients ensure that it really does add significant value.

This serum is an excellent multi-tasker. Niacinamide is a brilliant prep for skin when it comes to retinol, and I have been using a layer of this on clean skin, and allowing it to sink in for five to ten minutes before applying my night time retinol products when I use them.

The serum helps to ensure the barrier is supported and that all irritation in minimised.

I also love to use Origins Plantscription Multi-Powered Youth Serum after chemical and physical exfoliation. It is super calming and takes down any redness very quickly. Post-exfoliation, it works to put the hydration and lipids back into the skin, and the peptides help boost collagen and strengthen the skin barrier.

It’s also super effective on fine lines around the eyes, and I love that you can use this all over the face, including the eyes and neck. I find it’s brilliant for hydrating the eye area and it fends off those dehydration lines really well.

If you feel like your skin is lacking that lovely youthful bounce, I can’t recommend this enough. It really gives the complexion a welcomed elastic feel and an increased firm feeling.

Where to buy it

The new Origins Plantscription Multi-Powered Youth Serum is £67 for 50ml. I think it is very well priced. It is available now at these links below:
