I always get very excited when The Ordinary launch new serums and oils, and they have just launched loads of new serums and oils! Hallelujah!! I am currently slathered in quite a few of them and my skin really seems to be thanking me for them. So as not to overwhelm you, and I am fully aware that this brand can be a little overwhelming at times with the sheer volume of products, I thought I would look at the newbies one by one. In this post I am concentrating on The Ordinary Buffet + Copper Peptides 1% which is a fabulous serum designed to tackle a host of skin ageing issues and a more affordable alternative to NIOD’s CAIS.
So just to give you a little taste of what else is to come, here are all the new The Ordinary products that have just launched:
- Buffet + Copper Peptides 1%
- Ethylated Ascorbic Acid 15% Solution
- Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%
- 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Borage Seed Oil
- 100% Organic Virgin Sea-Buckthorn Fruit Oil
I will have more info on all of those products super soon, so stay tuned!!
The Ordinary Buffet + Copper Peptides 1% Features
- Lightweight, multi-technology peptide serum
- Targets various visible signs of ageing at once
- Treats fine and dynamic lines, wrinkles and textural irregularities
- Contains a 1% concentration of GHK-Cu (Copper Tripeptide)
- GHK-Cu focuses on repair and improving skin health in the long-term

The Ordinary Buffet + Copper Peptides 1% is a beautiful serum (on the skin and in the bottle!). I am a big fan of the original Buffet and have been through several bottles of that. This is like a major suped up version with magical power of copper added in. It has a beautiful texture (slightly more fluid than the original) and a stunning blue colour. It sinks into the skin effortlessly, leaving it smooth and glowing.
Other serums and oils layer well on top, so if you like a skincare cocktail with anti-ageing benefit, The Ordinary Buffet + Copper Peptides 1% is the perfect 1st step. The copper peptide is a powerful anti-ageing ingredient. It boosts and supports collagen production, promotes skin healing and has amazing anti-inflammatory benefits.
The only problem is, GHK is a very expensive ingredient and hikes up the cost of the original Buffet from £12.70, to £28.90. However, it is a more affordable alternative to NIOD’s much adored and skin-changing product CAIS, and a perfect introduction to the anti-ageing effects of using copper peptides in your regime. The original Buffet will still be available.
