I got very excited when I heard about the launch of Olaplex No 4D Clean Volume Detox Dry Shampoo! I never expected a dry shampoo from a brand that’s all about bond building and repair, so I couldn’t wait to test it out.

How to use Olaplex Dry Shampoo
It’s really easy to use. You simply shake up the can, section the hair at the roots, and apply in longish bursts to the scalp region.
Avoid touching the hair for at least 30 seconds while the product sets and any moisture evaporates off. After 30 seconds, massage into the scalp.
My Review of Olaplex No 4D Clean Volume Detox Dry Shampoo
I have to confess, I wanted to like this dry shampoo even before I tried it, mainly because the idea of a dry shampoo with Olaplex’s amazing bond-building technology seems magical!
Traditionally, dry shampoos have been a quick fix time saver, rather than something that can actually benefit the hair, so the premise of Olaplex No 4D Clean Volume Detox Dry Shampoo seems too good to be true!
Having bond-builders in a dry shampoo is total genius! It means that not only are you absorbing oil, and extending the life of your style, you’re actually helping to relink broken bonds to repair and strengthen the hair.
I have been testing it out and I am really impressed. Now, I don’t really get greasy hair, as I have a pretty dry scalp, but after workouts my hair can get very flat and lifeless.
I find that the Olaplex dry shampoo is great for reviving flat hair, giving a lovely lift at the roots, and putting back the bounce.
Although I currently have blonde hair, I am dark at the roots, and when I have sprayed this on, even for longer bursts, it doesn’t produce a white cast. This is down to the fact that Olaplex have swapped out talc for ultra-fine micro starch derived from brown rice. Without the talc, you don’t get that gritty feel or dusty look to the hair. Fab.
It is maybe not quite as volumising as my other favourite, the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo*, but it is more weightless and indetectable in terms of look and feel.
All in all, I am a big fan of this new launch. I also love No 4 shampoo and No 5 conditioner, and the No 6 Leave In styling treatment.
