Colour correcting is a huge beauty obsession right now. Currently, there are umpteen different options at Sephora but most of them are pretty pricey. Luckily NYX Cosmetics which, if you don’t know about yet, you definitely will soon, has developed a very comprehensive range of colour correctors to tackle a whole range of complexion issues. Here’s a look at the brand new NYX Color Correcting Liquid Primer range.
NYX Color Correcting Liquid Primer Features
- Preps the face for flawless makeup application
- Silky, fluid texture
- Formulation glides on evenly
- Each shade delivers a subtle, lit-from-within glow
- Gives skin a fresh, even-toned look
- Available in five shades
NYX Color Correcting Liquid Primer Shades & Swatches
- Yellow to illuminate fair to medium complexions
- Blue to brighten sallowness in fair complexions
- Lavender to add luminosity to dull complexions
- Orange to restore the healthy glow of medium to dark complexions
- Green to neutralise redness
I love how thin and fluid the formulation is. It makes it very light on the skin, and means that an extra layer of primer and foundation isn’t going to make things too cakey. I think the key is to only apply to the areas that need correction. For me that would be the green around my nose and sides of the chin and then the yellow where I would apply highlighter/concealer.
It blends very easily and I particularly like the luminosity that the yellow imparts. It is very pretty. Even the green tone is very luminous which I haven’t come across with a redness neutraliser before.
NYX also have a range of colour correcting powders – in green, yellow and lilac – although I haven’t actually seen those yet. There’s a fantastic complexion range within the brand and I am really looking forward to showing you the NYX Pro Foundation Mixers and also the NYX Sculpt & Highlight Face Duos. Stay tuned for lots more!
