I am a huge HUGE fan of the Beauty Bay website (I stalk the new in section on a daily basis) and when they asked if I would be interested in trying some hair tools from NuMe I was beyond thrilled. I had heard of NuMe (YouTubers have raved about them) so naturally I was intrigued and couldn’t wait to put these guys to the test.
I had never really ventured far from GHDs, not out of loyalty, but I just know what I am getting with them having bought my first pair when I was 17, plus I am a lazy hair girl so never needed anything else. I have fairly fine, straight hair – it doesn’t hold a curl and doesn’t really warrant straightening. Part laziness, part lack lustre, dull and boring mane, I don’t do much (messy ponytail is about all I master).
Let me introduce you to NuMe, who have single handed reinvigorated my interest with hair styling. In a nutshell…. I love them… I just want to put heart emojis but I should probably give you the lowdown, I’ll keep it brief as I want to go and curl my hair again.
NuMe Megastar Professional Ceramic Flat Iron
With a market over saturated with hair straighteners it’s hard to find the good ones – I can tell you now, these are FAB.
Adjustable temperature, Infrared and Ion technology (to straight hair from within and keep it frizz free) as well as being light weight and sleek, you really can’t go wrong.
I curled and straightened my hair with this and found it super easy on every occasion. When I wore my hair straight I received so many compliments. Not called the Megastar for nothing. Find it here
NuMe Lustrum Interchangable Curling Wand
Now this is the real star of the show and I honestly squealed when I received this – for those of you who are adventurous and creative this is well worth the investment.
Five interchangeable tourmaline barrels, so the world is your curly hair oyster – whilst having intensely shiny hair too (and NuMe claims that the tourmaline keeps the hair moisturised and hydrated).
What you get (from L – R)
- A wavy barrel – Creates beachy waves.
- Small barrel – perfect for those corkscrew curls.
- Cone wand – Designed to add tight, varying width curls.
- Large barrel – Create loose, bouncy waves.
- Medium barrel – For loose curls and body.
You also get a heat resistant glove (super handy… get it)… and it all comes in a portable carry case, perfect for neat freaks.
Super simple design – click your desired barrel into the base (and don’t forget to lock). This was a little tricky with some of the barrels but you just have to be gentle.
The two I tried were the Large barrel and the Wavy barrel and the finished results were epic.
In the past, due to the nature of my fine, flat, yawn-worthy hair I had always used a mousse and twenty cans of hair spray just because my hair point blank refused to hold a curl. So I wanted to test the Lustrum vigorously – with and without hair product – and although the curls dropped ever so slightly, which is to be expected, they stayed – from morning to night even WITHOUT product. Super SUPER impressed. Find it here
Two thumbs up from me – NuMe you have a NuFan.
