When skin-first body brand Necessaire first launched in the UK, beauty junkies were really happy but the question they were asking was ‘why haven’t we got the Necessaire Deodorant Gel yet?’ Well the good news is, it has finally arrived. Here’s the low down on this much raved about product.
What is Necessaire Deodorant Gel?

This is a deodorant with a difference because it’s not just about minimising odour but it also aims to beautify the skin at the same time. I have been testing it and and absolutely love it!
- Unique formula with 5% AHA & Niacinamide
- Treats discolouration
- Minimises bumps and texture
- Strengthens the skin barrier
- Minimises odour by eliminating odour causing bacteria by decreasing the pH level of the skin
- Doesn’t stain clothes
- Free from aluminium, backing soda, parabens, and synthetic fragrance
- Available in Eucalyptus* and fragrance free* at Space NK for £18
My Review
I have the Eucalyptus version of the Necessaire Deodorant Gel and absolutely love it. In fact, it’s probably the most excited I’ve been about a deodorant… ever! Ridiculously, it actually popped up in one my dreams one night last week. Yes I’m that sad!
I love the light gel texture of this deodorant, and it feels super light on the skin. Importantly, it doesn’t contain baking soda which can be responsible for blocking pores. As soon pores get blocked in your armpits, you get the bumpy texture, ingrown hairs and marks – all the things that make us hate our armpits!

I really like the skincare focus in the Necessaire Deodorant Gel and the fact that it contains AHAs and Niacinamide to smooth and calm the skin. It doesn’t sting when I use it straight after shaving, and it dries nice and quickly so you can get dressed without fuss.
I love the Eucalyptus fragrance as it’s nice and fresh, however, if you prefer, you can opt for the fragrance-free version.
After a couple of week’s of use, the skin on my armpits is calm and there’s no post shaving irritation. I think the area is starting to look smoother, although I feel like I need to use it for longer to really see marked improvement.
Most importantly, it works well to prevent odour, even on pretty hot days which is pretty impressive for a ‘clean’ deodorant.
