Nanshy Masterful Brush Collection and Brush & Sponge Cleaning Soap Review

I had seen Nanshy at London IMATS last year so was delighted to try some products from them. I was sent their Makeup Brush & Sponge Cleaning Soap along with the Masterful Collection Onyx Black Make-up Brush Set #brushgoals

To give you a little background into Nanshy, they pride themselves on making products that are luxurious, durable and affordable whilst being user-friendly and 100% cruelty free. All the brushes are made by hand and they only use synthetic bristles.

Nanshy claim that they are the softest brushes you’ve ever tried – and they aren’t wrong. They are silly soft, so no dragging on the skin but they aren’t so soft they are flimsy and don’t pick up any product. The brushes are super light to hold due to the ergonomically designed handles which I find makes it easier to apply products.

I really wanted to put these brushes to the test (which meant I was forced to make an effort every day). The eye brushes are great, truly great. I always find applying eyeshadow such a bore despite the 50 eyeshadow palettes I have, but these brushes made it effortless.

They picked up just enough product and blended beautifully without tugging. The ones I found I was using daily were the Blending and Crease brush – I am obsessed with my Mac 217 and Zoeva 227 and these have joined this crowd.

The Pencil brush was brilliant too for applying inner corner highlight and the Angled Detailer was great for applying powder brow product and for smudging out shadow or liner on the lash liner and the Liner brush,  excellent for achieving that smooth fine line for gel eyeliner, perfection.

The face brushes are fab too – the Stippling Brush is perfect for bronzer and the Contouring brush works brilliantly for blush.

I oddly found that the Foundation Brush was great for highlighting products (The Foundation brush is a traditional style brush, I am more of a flat top or beauty sponge kinda gal).

Nanshy Makeup Brush & Sponge Cleaning Soap

So up until recently I have been pretty loyal to a particular solid cleanser (you know which one I mean) and for no particular reason so was happy to try an alternative. Again this is vegan and cruelty free as well as 100% natural (YAY). It is completely alcohol free so perfect for those sensitive skin peeps out there. The ingredients are silly simple: SLS and SLES Free Glycerine, Coconut Milk, Grapefruit & Bergamot Essential Oil and Vitamin E Oil.

My simple cleaning brush routine:

• Grab dirty brushes, willpower and a candle (the last two are essential).
• Fill sink with lukewarm water.
• Swirl brush in the soap and rub brush on a scrublet (you can pick these up quite cheaply and it stops you getting prune hands)
• Repeat as necessary
• Rinse try and avoid to get water over / in the brush farrell
• I then lightly tap of the excess water
• Left to air dry I try to hang them upside down

I used the Nanshy Brush & Sponge Cleaning Soap on both the Nanshy Brushes and some of my usual ones and can confirm that it works amazingly with both.

I found that it doesn’t lather as much my usual solid cleanser but I don’t think that matters, plus with Nanshy you are left with a super clean fragrance. Also, you get more bang for your buck. Find it here
