Australian sun care brand Naked Sundays has launched in the UK and I have been checking out their SPF 50 Mists for face and body, plus the Collagen Glow 100% Mineral Perfecting Priming Lotion and the Clear Glow Radiant Sun Serum. Here’s the low down.

What is Naked Sundays?

Naked Sundays Suncreen
Naked Sundays Suncreen

Naked Sundays describe their product offering as multi-tasking skincare and SPF for makeup lovers. This is such an interesting angle because high protection sun care products and SPFs don’t always work too well together. There’s definitely a gap in the market to aim SPF products at makeup junkies.

The Naked Sunday range of products includes:

  • SPF50+ Hydrating Glow Mist – 100ml £34
  • SPF50+ Glow Body Mist – 150ml £36 (currently reduced)
  • SPF50+ Collagen Glow 100% Mineral Perfecting Priming Lotion – 50ml £34
  • SPF50 Clear Glow Radiant Sun Serum – 50ml £36
  • SPF BFF Brush £8

Naked Sundays SPF50+ Hydrating Glow Mist Review

This mist is designed primarily as a top up mist and you can use it throughout the day, misted over makeup (or just your skincare) to make sure that your skin is protected all day long.

It is an invisible formula (no white cast) that’s packed with skincare ingredients and is designed to set makeup, deliver a dewy glow, and top up your SPF at the same time.

The formula uses Hyaluronic Acid, antioxidant Watermelon Extract and Vitamin C-rich Kakadu Plum to hydrate and double up the protection with defence against free radicals. Antioxidants plus SPF are the best combination when it comes to protecting your skin from the environment.

I tested this out in Greece for a few days and got on really well with it. It’s super light and invisible on the skin, plus it gives a lovely glow. It does have quite a strong cucumber fragrance, which reminds me of some of the first skincare I used to buy back in the day from Boots.

I find it a tiny bit overpowering, but it dissipates pretty quickly. You just need to not breath in, and keep your eyes closed whilst you spray 7 times in circular motions over your face.

This is definitely a great product to keep in your handbag. I like it a lot.

This is another light and super pleasant mist to use which again is designed as a top for your SPF.

Like the face mist, it includes Watermelon extract and Kakadu Plump for antioxidant protection as well as the high protection SPF50+.

Also like the face mist, it is super cooling, invisible on the skin, really easy to use and it gives a lovely sheen. You just need 7 sprays per limb and then you can quickly smooth over your skin with your hands.

When I was in Greece I applied a cream SPF50 all over in the morning, and then used this to top up throughout the day. This also gets the thumbs up from me.

Naked Sundays SPF50+ Collagen Glow 100% Mineral Perfecting Priming Lotion Review

I actually got on with this product a lot better than I thought I would.

Naked Sundays Collagen Glow 100% Mineral Sunscreen SPF50+
Naked Sundays Collagen Glow 100% Mineral Sunscreen SPF50+

It is quite a thick product (which does always reassure me when it comes to high protection products for the face) but once you have blended it in, it settles very nicely and doesn’t look heavy or cakey.

It is a 100% Mineral Sunscreen SPF50+ and is infused the Naked Sundays’ Vegan Collagen which aims to help smooth the skin and even out your skin tone.

The formula looks tinted, as you will see from the swatch in the below section, however, as you blend it in to the skin (I used the Naked Sunday buffing brush) it actually transforms to a translucent finish.

I am not sure how it would work on the darkest of skin tones, as its formula contains a high concentration of zinc oxide and the brand recommend their clear serum if you have any concerns over this.

I liked the way this blended into my skin, and makeup went on nicely over it. I then used the Face Mist that I have written about above to stay topped up.

Here’s what it looks like freshly applied to my skin:

I love this one because it offers serious protection because it’s 80 Minutes Water resistant. It really gave me the confidence that I was fully protected and its the kind of one I want on a proper sunshiny holiday, rather than one I would need dashing around town in London.

Although the Collagen Glow sunscreen does even out the skin tone nicely, it doesn’t have foundation-like coverage. If you are looking for a skin tint with SPF50 and also skin-perfecting coverage, check out Ultra Violette Daydream Screen SPF50 Tinted Veil, which also just launched in the UK.

Naked Sundays SPF50 Clear Glow Radiant Sun Serum

Now I haven’t properly tested this one yet because in the heat of Greece, I opted for what I always consider to be more of a full block with the 100% mineral sunscreen.

Naked Sundays Clear Glow Radiant Sun Serum SPF50

This is what Naked Sundays describes as the world’s first 100% Clear SPF50 Sun Serum. It guarantees no white cast and aims to deliver a satin finish.

The Naked Sundays Clear Glow is actually designed to replace your serum, moisturiser and primer, so if you wanted, it could be the only product you use in the morning. Pretty genius if you’re looking to completely strip back your routine. You can also use it with your other skincare products under, if you wish.

The formula includes Squalane to hydrate and moisturise, Watermelon Extract, Kakadu Plum and Tomato Extract for antioxidant and blue light protection and Jojoba for extra hydration.

This is the kind of SPF that I want to try under makeup when I’m not in super hot temperatures and not out and about so much. I’ll share more thoughts on it soon.
