MTHK Eye Care Review

I want to introduce you to the MTHK Eye Spray and Drops for Dry Eyes which have been a real gamechanger when it comes to dealing with dry eyes and also how my eye makeup wears. Dry eyes are something new-ish to me and something I have kind of ignored until a couple of months ago. Here’s what you need to know.

What is MTHK?

MTHK Eye Care Review

MTHK have created a range of products for dry eyes that are easy to use, even for an eye drop-phobe like me!

The MTHK eye care collection is focused on looking after and relieving dry, sore, itchy eyes and it’s created by the best eye experts you can find. The founders are surgeons and professors that work with Moorfields Eye Hospital. This really makes me trust these products even more.

They also have THE most incredible glasses cloth which is the only thing that works with the world’s smeariest lenses (makeup wearers, and my friends, who are always desperate to clean my glasses, will know what I mean!)

The collection includes:

You can do an online eye test to work out how dry your eyes are. When I did my test, I scored 60 out of 100 which is classed as Moderate eye dryness, and these products have been fantastic. You can do your own online eye test. Check out the 60 Second Eye Check.

MTHK Eye Spray Review

This product is my absolute favourite from the collection mainly because it is so easy to use and is super effective. If you don’t like using eye drops, you are not alone because I have struggled with using eye drop many times throughout my life. Remember that episode of Friends where everyone literally had to hold Rachel down to treat her eye?? That used to be me!

Everything changed when I discovered MTHK because both the Eye Spray and Eye Drops are designed to be administered when the eyes are closed, which I think it absolutely genius!

It’s really interesting because the last time I had my eyes tested, the optician (who I have been going to for years) asked whether I had dry eyes. He has never asked me that question before.

I said to him that I had the opposite because my eyes have started watering more than they used to, and he explained that that is actually a symptom of dry eyes. I looked into it more, and I think I can put this change down to the approach of menopause.

Luckily not long after, I was introduced to MTHK and using the drops and spray have really eased the eye watering situation.

MTHK Eye Spray

I love the Spray the most because it is so easy to use. You simply spray it over closed eyes, a couple of sprays per eye, and then blink to allow it to gently flow in. It feels so soothing and refreshing and I find it really does make a difference when I go outside, which is usually when my eyes start watering.

I can also use it during the day because it doesn’t mess up my makeup so it’s the perfect product to throw in my handbag and use on the go.

This one is absolutely brilliant for soothing sore eyes caused by hay fever and allergies in general. It’s great because you don’t have to touch your eyes which often causes allergies to worsen. Also, they are preservative-free so won’t cause allergies over time.

If you struggle with eye drops, you will love this, but don’t rule out the drops, because they are really surprisingly easy to use too!

Key Ingredients

The formula contains Liposomes which work to strengthen the lipid layer of tears so that they don’t evaporate away. There’s also Pro-Vitamin B5 to moisturise the skin around the eyes.

MTHK Eyes Drops Review

So what is amazing about these drops is that, again, they are applied to closed eyes. This was music to my ears when I first discovered them. I use these when I have more time and they are super soothing and extremely refreshing.

MTHK Eye Drops
MTHK Eye Drops

These are the easiest eye drops I have ever come across and they feel so good on my eyes. It’s crazy because I didn’t realise I had dry eyes until my optician mentioned it, and now I can’t understand how I didn’t realise!

MTHK Eye Vitamins

I am planning to take the the Eye Vitamins as the drops and spray have been so effective.

They have everything your eyes need for healthy function and it’s a great formula to support your eyes as they age. I now need glasses for reading and driving (it used to be just reading) and this is all age-related. I am really keen to help my eyes out as much as I can.

Key Ingredients

There are daily multivitamins that include Lutein, Zeaxanthin, Vitamins C, E, B2, B6, B9, B12, Zinc and Maqui Berry.

Interestingly, Vitamin C is known to reduce the risk of cataracts. Also the Maqui Berry is known help your eyes produce tears and help the
symptoms of dry eye.

What causes dry eyes?

Eyes can get dry for a range of reasons. Contact lens wearers can be vulnerable to eye dryness, but factors such as allergies, central heating, air conditioning and extended screen time can also have an impact.

Also, if you don’t remove your eye makeup properly, this will cause problems too. Check out my Best Eye Makeup Remover on a Budget 2023 blog post.

Can Menopause cause dry eyes?

Personally, I have always spent hours staring at a screen and not really had a problem, but I believe that my more recent eye dryness has a lot to do with the fact that I am approaching Menopause.

Menopause causes the body to produce less oestrogen, progesterone, and androgen, which in turn can affect tear production and tear quality.

MTHK have some amazing resources about menopause and eye problems. Check out:
