It hadn’t occurred to me that Missoni had been in the fragrance game since the late 80s. So, it was a surprise to me to see that the Italian fashion house had a new release. The Missoni Eau de Toilette for Women is their latest offering and it comes housed in a sleek and vibrant oval bottle.
The bottle has a gorgeous mix of pink, orange and yellow for a summery vibe. The only sign of branding is the small ‘Missoni’ label between the lid and main base of the bottle. It gives off a very classy, more luxe feel than I expected from such a print orientated brand.
The theme behind the fragrance is ‘fresh, luminous and feminine.’ I definitely agree with this as I felt it was fresh and feminine upon first smelling.
Despite my preference for muskier, more masculine scents, I actually really like this fragrance. I particularly like it when the scent settles into the skin and softens.
However, this is a really fresh and floral scent, no doubt about it. With top notes of Blood Orange and Rosehip, I expected it to be more fruity, but the citrus elements only add to the freshness.
There are base notes of musk and white cedar though too which I feel give the fragrance a more mature feel and stop it being too sweet. I definitely think this is a summer fragrance through and through, so I will more than likely get more wear out of it next year.
Not only is the new fragrance now available, there is an adorable bath and body set launching with the same fragrance. I love gift sets with these travel sized body lotions and shower gels because they are perfect for popping in an overnight bag, especially when you want to smell like your favourite scent all over.
What is your favourite type of fragrance?
Love, Kate xo
