Ever since I was a young girl I have loved styling hair! I have tried many hairstyles over the years, on myself and others, and when I have wanted to create something elaborate or intricate, long hair has been a must. Until the invention of hair extensions, the only way to fully experiment with long hair was to grow it. Now though you can have long hair whenever you want! Whether you have permanent extensions or simply clip them in the options are endless. You can find extensions of many lengths and colours, straight and curly. I’ve been trying out Milk & Blush clip-in hair extensions recently.

Milk & Blush has been producing clip in hair extensions for over 15 years, it was one of the first companies to create them and is still going strong. Each clip in extension is made with 100% human hair and they offer individuals and full sets to suit your needs. They also provide aftercare products to keep your extensions in good condition and a shade matcher so you can ensure your extensions match your own hair colour perfectly. As with all human hair extensions, they can also be styled with straighteners and curling tongs to create different looks and cut to match your own hair style!
Over time, I have tried many different clip in hair extensions made by different companies but I did not try Milk & Blush extensions until now. I did not test a full head set which contains 10 wefts, I only tried a Quad Weft. A quad weft is generally used as an additional piece to the full set to add additional volume and thickness. This is what I received:

The hair piece was wrapped in netting as is usual with hair extensions. I ordered a 16-18” piece in darkest brown and once freed this is how it looked:

The hair is beautifully silky and soft, and the Quad Weft is reasonably thick. However, a Quad Weft would definitely need to be added to a full set of extensions to evenly extend your hair. When I applied the Quad Weft, this is how it looked:

As you can see, a single Quad Weft would not be wearable on its own!

My hair is blunt cut and shorter than the weft but the extension could be trimmed to match my haircut if I wanted it to. However, the colour match was excellent and it was easy to clip in and comfortable to wear all day. When I added a full set of clip-in extensions that I already owned the look was much more complete:

If the extensions were cut blunt they would blend in with my hair beautifully! That being said, I was still happy with the overall look. Just from testing the Quad Weft, I can imagine that a full head set of clip-ins from Milk & Blush would be gorgeous and would give my own hair the volume and thickness I have always wanted, as well as the length!
Curling The Extensions
As an extra test, I curled the Quad Weft to see how well it would hold a curl. Admittedly I used a big barrel curling tong so the final curls were reasonably loose. However the hair piece did retain the curl for a few hours:
Had I used a smaller curling iron I have no doubt that the hair would have retained the tighter curl for longer!
Overall, as someone that wears hair extensions on a regular basis and has done for years, I was impressed with the quality of this Quad Weft. I will definitely consider purchasing the full head set to match this piece! Even after styling and a couple of days of use the hair remained smooth and silky. I was able to untangle any knots simply using my fingers. The clips were easy to clip in and out and sturdy. They don’t move or slide out in your hair even after tugging! Having now tested this brand I can certainly see why they are so popular and are considered a market leader in the hair extension arena! To view the full range on offer, click here.
