MERIT Clean Volume Volumizing Tubing Mascara is a new Japanese-made tubing mascara designed to create defined, separated lashes with buildable volume and long-lasting curl.

The formula combines lightweight waxes and film-forming technology to wrap each lash in flexible tubing polymers for smudge-resistant wear that removes easily with warm water.

It is paired with a uniquely designed precision brush that aims to coat every lash from root to tip while maintaining separation and definition. It promises:

• Wear time of up to 16 hours without smudging or flaking
• Lifts and separates each lash with zero clumping thanks so the petite precision brush
• Formula wraps each lash to lock in curl and lift without heaviness

The Brush

One of the most interesting aspects of this launch is the brush design.

MERIT has developed a small and soft square-shaped brush with flat surfaces that help distribute the formula evenly through the lashes. It’s what they are referring to as a ‘petite’ brush and has a tapered tip to allow for clean and controlled application and to reach smaller lashes, making application easier around the inner corners, outer corners and lower lash line. It will be great for anyone who struggles with larger mascara wands.

The brand also describes the brush as featuring a 360° Lash Wrap design with intertwined conical bristles that create a nest-like structure around the lashes. This helps grab and separate individual lashes for a more defined finish.

The Formula

The formula uses a combination of lightweight waxes and film formers with quick-dry application to create buildable volume and a long lasting curl, without weighing lashes down.

As a tubing mascara, it works by coating each lash individually rather than relying on traditional wax-heavy pigments. This can help reduce smudging, flaking and transfer throughout the day.

MERIT Clean Volume Volumizing Tubing Mascara launches in two shades:
