Although I haven’t had a chance to properly test out the new Melvita Apicosma Soothing Cream, I really wanted to feature it after the great level of interest created by what professional therapist and beauty guru Marie Reynolds had to say in her Skincare Ingredients Blacklist feature. This new product from Melvita claims to be leading the way in sensitive formulations completely free from preservatives and I think Marie would approve!
So! Apparently on average a woman applies up to 10kg of preservative on her skin during her lifetime, which many believe can be a leading cause of skin sensitivity. The question is, what else can we use to keep products stable, fresh and effective? Well Melvita have come up with a solution.
Melvita Apicosma Soothing Cream Sterilisation Process
Melvita Apicosma Soothing Cream features the same flash-sterilising technology that is used in UHT milk. I have never really thought about what the UHT sterilisation process is, but I’m told it doesn’t use chemical preservatives but actually a process that takes the product from a very high temperature right down to room temperature within a few seconds. This is know as ‘flash’ treatment and serves to:
- Preserve the integrity and the properties of the ingredients
- Eradicate and prevent the formation of microorganisms to protect the purity of the formula
Melvita Apicosma Soothing Cream Packaging
Melvita have used an innovative hermetically sealed pack which prolongs the life of Apicosma Soothing Cream with no need for added chemical preservatives.
Genius! The texture is light but super hydrating and contains Melvita’s nourishing 3 honey complex. If you have sensitive skin then this is definitely one to try.
Melvita Apicosma Soothing Cream is £30 – find it HERE.
