Nothing reveals more about a woman than her choice of scent. And when it comes to fragrances, I feel like everyone is looking to find their signature scent. A fragrance they can wear everyday and feel like the perfume is ‘theirs’. But with the big trend for fruity and fresh fragrances over the past few years, a lot of the perfumes out in the market smell very similar. But that’s about to change. Alexander McQueen have launched their first fragrance, McQueen Eau de Parfum, and it’s as individual, theatrical and as decadent as you’d hope it would be.

McQueen Eau De Parfum Notes
McQueen Eau De Parfum has taken two years to perfect but it’s been worth the wait. I own a lot of perfumes, but what I love most about this fragrance, is that it’s completely different to everything else I own. There are spicy notes, floral notes and it lasts throughout the day.

There’s definitely a vintage feel to the fragrance. The key ingredients are Sambac Jasmine, Tuberose and Ylang Ylang – all star ingredients from the golden age of perfumery. The top notes are spice – Black Pepper, Clove and Pink Pepper – which have been layered on top of the floral notes. Combined these work really well together and help to make the fragrance so unique and different.

McQueen Eau De Parfum Packaging
Sarah Burton took inspiration from haute perfumeries, and this scent combines the highest level of perfume-making artistry with exceptional design. She’s really captured the essence of what you seen from McQueen on the catwalk and brought that into the perfume packaging. With a black lacquered cap and heavy glass, this bottle will look beautiful on your dressing table.

And I have to say the white outer packaging is just stunning with embossed feathers and gold detailing.
As you would probably expect, it’s not the cheapest of perfumes around, but it’s not the most expensive either. Prices start at £55 for 30ml, £75 for 50ml and £95 for 75ml. But you definitely get your money’s worth as this perfume is just beautiful.
McQueen Eau De Parfum is available exclusively from today here and will be available nationwide from 1st September.
