I was really excited to try Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick because I have always liked Maybelline’s lip products. The last matte lipsticks, the Vivid Matte Liquids were lovely, although not completely matte, and this new formulation promises to be super long lasting. Here are the details with photos and swatches.

I have been playing with four of the shades and I think that Lover and Pioneer are the best ones.

I have four of the shades to show you. Here are the swatches of Lover, Pioneer, Heroine and Creator:

As I said at the top, my favourites in terms of shade, pigmentation, application and finish are Lover and Pioneer. They set to a matte finish nice and quickly, deliver a lovely smooth, even finish and last really well. I find Heroine and Creator less even but still gorgeous shades. Here are my faves on my lips:

Having had a quick search online, I think that the general consensus is that not all the shades are equal. I’d definitely recommend Lover and Pioneer and I hear that Voyage is a really good red too.
