The world has gone mad for gel effect nail polishes and I am pleased to say that Max Factor have joined the arena with a seriously good product. Here’s the lowdown on Max Factor Gel Shine Lacquer. There are 9 shades in total and I have 8 of them here for you. Keep reading to see them all swatched on my nails.
I am really liking the packaging! I love a bit of gold and I think these look really smart. Aside from that though, this is all about the formula and it is super luxurious and easy to apply. Max Factor Gel Shine Lacquers are incredibly pigmented but also promise long wear, thanks to a new technology.
Max Factor Gel Shine Lacquer Formula
The formula contains Bentonite Clay Gel which deliver intense pigment on to the nail. Also it is very thick which prevents the polish falling into ridges and cracks for a super smooth finish. It has a self-levelling action which means no streaks or brush marks. For long wear, it contains a ‘plasticizer’ to make it really flexible and less likely to chip under impact. Excellent!
Max Factor Gel Shine Lacquer Shade Range
- 20 Vivid Vermillion (not shown)
- 25 Patent Poppy
- 30 Twinkling Pink
- 35 Lacquered Violet
- 40 Glazed Cobalt
- 45 Gleaming Teal
- 50 Radiant Ruby
- 55 Sparkling Berry
- 60 Sheen Merlot
As I said, they are so easy to use. Apart from the reds which I always find are harder to achieve opacity, every shade is just one quick coat. It instantly delivers a super shiny and plumped up result.
Max Factor Gel Shine Lacquer Swatches
Sorry about the stained cuticles, I need a new magic nail polish remover pot!!
I am so impressed with the shade range too – there really isn’t one that I don’t like. Patent Poppy is the perfect red and Glazed Cobalt is literally the most incredible blue shade. I always find blue tones very hard to capture on camera but check out Lacquered Violet in instagram HERE and Glazed Colbalt HERE.
Max Factor Gel Shine Lacquer will be available at Boots from mid-end of July 2014 for £7.99 each. I haven’t been able to test longevity yet but will update this post when I have. Loving so far!
