Now this isn’t a new product by any stretch the big news is that MakeUp Forever is coming soon to the UK High Street!! How exciting is that! When I go to Sephora in the US I always pick up a few bits although I have never gotten around to trying the foundations. I really want to though. And I am sure I will once the brand launches in Debenhams!! Exciting! To celebrate, I am reviewing the MakeUp Forever HD Microfinish Powder.

So we have known about MakeUp Forever coming to Debenhams for a little while now, but the latest firm news is that it will launch in May 2015. I think this will be seriously good for beauty at Debenhams. They already stock another of my fave US brands Too Faced and this will really strengthen their offering.

Anway, back to the MakeUp Forever HD Microfinish Powder. As a fan of glow, I haven’t always been a powder girl but for the last year I have seriously come to recognise the benefits especially when it comes to the more sophisticated formulations, which the MUFE one is.

It’s a white powder that at first looks a little scary but the texture is so light and fine that it is barely detectable on the skin. Apart from controlling shine where I need it in my t zone (mainly nose area) it doesn’t change the appearance of my makeup. In fact, I find it gives a lovely soft focus effect.

I am not sure you can really see a difference in photos but here’s before and after shots.

Before, with just foundation and corrector:

And here is a light dusting with the powder applied with a powder brush:

There’s barely a difference but I think is the best part, as I like the way foundation looks. Yet my makeup is set and shine takes a lot longer to come through. I just need to try and remember to use it every day because my nose has been more oily the last couple of weeks. I am sure it’s a weather thing!
It doesn’t feel heavy or cakey and I love the packaging which keeps the loose powder pretty well contained – there’s a stopper of sorts in the lid. I hate it when you open a pot and you’re met with a powder drift!

MakeUp Forever HD Microfinish Powder is $34 in Sephora in the US. I am not going to bother guessing how much it will be when it arrives at Debenhams Beauty because I’ll probably be wrong! I’ll let you know when I know!
