I thought that this would be a useful post as we get into New Year territory because my beauty resolutions always include some kind of aspiration about keeping in control of my brush washing a bit better. I have started off by getting to grips with the Lottie London Soap Star solid brush cleanser, which I have to say is excellent.
I usually get myself into a right pickle when it come to washing brushes. I generally use a liquid soap in the palm of my hand and very quickly end up with prune hands and generally a soggy mess. It isn’t pretty. That was all a different story when I tried out the Lottie London Soap Star solid brush cleanser. It’s a little dream.
Lottie London Soap Star Features
- Use shea butter
- Softening coconut oil
- Formula deeply cleanses
- Removes makeup and germs
- Conditions the bristles for smooth makeup application
- Easy to use
- Simply wet your brushes and sweep over the solid soap-bar in circular movements
- Lather and rinse
For me it’s kind of a magical thing! No soggy fingers, no mess and no fuss. All you do is wet the bristles, swirl on the soap, rinse and leave to dry. When you’ve finished, you wipe the soap clean, rinse out the sponge that sits beneath the soap, and let everything air dry. My brushes are lovely and clean and soft and ready to fight another day.
I am definitely going to keep using this little life saver but most importantly my real brush cleaning new year’s resolution is to clean my brushes in small batches frequently – as I use them every couple of days. I have literally hundreds of brushes (rather ridiculously) and I use them and then let them all stack up and then have a humongous job on my hands. Yesyerday I did 5 in a few minutes and it was so simple. I am going to do that every day until I work through the backlog and then keep on top of it. The niftiness of a solid cleanser will make all of that so much easier. That’s the plan anyway.
