The amount of new mascara releases can sometimes be overwhelming. This is especially true at the high-street end of the market, where I’m a sucker for trying out the latest offerings. After the popularity of L’Oreal’s Sculpt by False Lash, I couldn’t resist picking up their newest creation, the L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes Fatale.
L’Oreal claims that this mascara will give you their “most killer eye look” yet. It has a buildable formula that volumises and thickens with its intense pigments. Yes please!
L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes Fatale Wand:
This is a standard plastic applicator with sporadic short spikes, but don’t fear, these are quite short so should reduce any accidental poking. The formula is a drier consistency, but not so dry that it is unworkable and goes on flakey. I personally prefer this as it minimises transfer on to the lid and lower lash line. It has a really nice matte finish, not plasticy in the slightest.
L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes Fatale Application:
I gave this a really good road test (a full week in fact) and I am more than pleasantly surprised. I want to start off by saying that the metallic fuchsia pink packaging is right up my street (thank you L’Oreal). I have quite wayward, stubby, lacklustre lashes and this mascara really does amp up the volume as well as thicken the lashes. I have only needed to do two coats to get the look I desire and have found that even with two coats it doesn’t clump. Best of all, I didn’t feel the need to curl my lashes beforehand as this mascara gives my limp lashes a lift and held the curl all day long!
What really impressed me was that it doesn’t budge and I haven’t seen any claims that it’s waterproof. I have quite watery outer corners and this stuff stayed put. There was also no flaking and it didn’t transfer on to my under eye…draws breath… And I am not done singing this mascara’s praises yet. Even with its longevity, this is one of the easiest mascaras I’ve had the pleasure of removing to date. Just a couple of cotton pads and my usual micellar water and it’s completely gone. No tugging, dragging or rubbing.
This may seem like the most perfect mascara EVER, but I do have one teensy drawback. My lashes did seem just slightly crispy, only on the outer lashes and on the ends, but I can forgive that because it ticks every other box.
