I got very excited when I got my hands on the new L’Oreal Paris Skin Paradise Tinted Water-Cream!! It’s all about getting a dewy, glass-skin glow and that is totally my vibe. Here is everything you need to know.

Although I am a big fan of high end skin bases and foundations, I have always been impressed with L’Oreal Paris’ offering. They use a lot of their technology from the group’s luxury brands (Lancome, Armani, YSL etc.) and filter it down to their high street ranges.

As soon as I saw this, I thought this is most likely their high street or drugstore version of the Armani Neo Nude True-To-Skin Natural Glow Foundation that I love (check out my review here).

What is L’Oreal Paris Skin Paradise?

First of all, this is a makeup and skincare hybrid, which are super popular for 2020 – much like Armani Neo-Nude which aims to fuse the best of skincare with the best of foundation.

L'Oreal Paris Skin Paradise

I have shade Fair 03 and Light 01. The full range includes 10 shades:

  • Fair 02 & 03
  • Light 01 & 02
  • Medium 01, 02, 04
  • Deep 01, 02, 03

Here are the swatches of Fair 03 and Light 01:

Now if the shades I have are anything to go by, the deeper skintones seem to be better catered for than the fairer skintones.

Both Fair 03 and Light 01 are much darker than I was expecting, and I also think they oxidise a little to about one shade deeper, so be aware of that if you are ordering online.

Before & After Photos

I went with shade Fair 03, which I think maybe the lightest shade Fair 02 would suit me better, but this one totally works as it’s sheer and warms me up nicely.

My Review

Even if the shade isn’t quite right, I can make it work because it has a fairly sheer texture. What I love is how luminous and juicy this makes the complexion. It feels lovely and moisturising and is really easy to apply and blend. The texture is lightweight and feels more like skincare than makeup which is always really positive for me.

It has a light coverage – it’s more like a tinted moisturiser than a foundation, and it absorbs into the skin pretty fast leaving no stickiness. You will need to go in with concealer if you have more you want to cover. Having said that, it does do a nice job of evening out tone to a certain degree, and it’s lovely and glowy and makes skin look pretty.

It lasts really well on my skin, and although it gets a bit glowier, it doesn’t sink into lines and stays looking nice and even. It has a lovely natural finish on the skin, almost like a second skin effect, which I love.

It’s a bit of a shame that the fair and light shades are so deep, because I think if you have pale skin, you may struggle to find a match.

Finally, I really love the packaging! The colours are so pretty and I love the water drops. It reminds me of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof mascara tube.
