Having never used any LORAC makeup before, I had no idea what to expect from this foundation. However, it is really rather wondrous! Here’s the low down on the Lorac Pro Soft Focus Longwear Foundation. If you’re struggling to keep your face on when the heat is on, you need to read this.

One thing to note, this does oxidise ever so slightly in the first ten minutes. Just a touch.

When I first pumped out the LORAC Pro Soft Focus Longwear Foundation, I wasn’t sure I was going to like it. It is quite thin and liquidy, and I usually prefer something a bit more on the creamy side.
Also, it has quite a strong smell. It reminds me a transfer-proof foundation that I used years ago (I wish I could remember which one!). The fragrance also reminds me a tiny bit of the La Mer foundation (that comes in the bottle), but more chemically.
If something performs, I am not overly bothered by how it smells, so I carried on happily.
I asked my partner what he thought my skin looked like about half an hour after I applied it, and he basically said that it looked very flawless and perfected, more than the other foundations I tend to wear.
As a fan of full coverage, even though I don’t always use full coverage, I was excited to hear this response!! Especially as I made no effort to build it up.
I have been using the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Complexion brush* to apply it. Because it has been so hot in the UK this week, I’ve been setting it very lightly with the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Powder*, however, very minimally and only in the t-zone.
What I have been most impressed with about this foundation is how long lasting it is and how well all my other makeup lasts on top of it.
I wore it for two very full and very hot days, and it didn’t really budge at all with no top ups. Not only did my skin stay looking really perfected and smooth, but my blusher and bronzer looked freshly applied, even at bed time! I used the new NARS Orgasm on the Beach palette and it stayed all day.
I found this remarkable because I have been so hot and sweaty and still it looked good.
I have combination skin – an oily-ish t-zone, and more dehydrated everywhere else, and this foundation just works for me.
This is definitely one I will be reaching for if I need my makeup to stay put under pressure, and heat, and sweat!!
