Lola Make Up is a British cruelty-free makeup brand curated by beauty experts and makeup artists. It’s always exciting to see new releases from experts in the field and Lola Make Up are no exception. I was happy to receive and sample some of their eye, cheek, and lip products, so let’s take a look at how they each performed.

Lola Make Up Blusher Duo

The Lola Make Up blusher duos are powder blushers that have a deeper shade matte blusher on one side (apparently to be used for contour) and a more shimmery blusher shade on the other side, that is supposed to be used to build on the colour. On their website, Lola Make Up claim that these powders are ‘soft and creamy’ with a ‘velvet finish with excellent adhesion to the skin’. Find it here

I received the shade pink, and found it to be very pigmented. On my particular deep skin tone, the colour appeared to sink into the skin without being too vibrant. It therefore gave me a more ‘natural’ blusher tone. I found that the micronised pigments (as they describe them) in the powder definitely help in the building of the colour without it appearing too powdery. I personally am not a fan of shimmery blushers, as I don’t particularly enjoy glitter particles on my face. This blusher powder definitely will leave the shimmer residue on your face, although it isn’t too noticeable. The blusher duo’s come in two shades a pink and apricot, and are packaged in a black rubberised casing with a decent sized mirror on the inside (making it great for travelling). Find it here
Lola Make Up Waterproof mascara

This mascara is described as creating ‘instantly fuller lashes and instantly waterproof’ and claims to volumise and lengthen. I found that the mascara gave me more of a natural finish, instead of a volumising effect. It did lengthen my lashes, but nothing too extreme. For being waterproof, I was a bit surprised to see that the mascara took a while to dry down. As a result it did transfer slightly whilst drying. It did last all day, and I didn’t any flaking of the mascara. I didn’t find it too difficult to remove with an eye makeup remover. Find it here

Lola Make Up Duo liner

When it comes to makeup I’m definitely a fan of a product that offers convenience. The duo liner is definitely one that does just that! Lola Makeup have released a kajal and eyeliner combination in one pen. I was very impressed with both the liquid liner and the kajal crayon liner, as they both lasted all day without smudging. The liquid liner has a precision tip and dries very quickly once applied and is also waterproof. The kajal liner also has a precision tip, and can be smudged out but I found it stayed in place once worn. Find it here
Lola Make Up Liquid Lipstick

The liquid lipstick is my favourite of all I was sent to try out. On the website Lola Makeup describe it as a ‘semi-matte, full coverage, creamy liquid lipstick (that) is a real treat for the lips! Strong pigments deliver rich indulgent colour with staying power. Thanks to sunflower seed wax and a particular blend of oils, the formula is extremely smooth upon application and feels soft on the lips; thus creating a gloss that dries quickly but doesn’t leave your lips feeling dry and chapped. Added Vitamin E helps to neutralise free radical damage and the built-in brush applicator ensures a flawless application.’

I have to say that I completely agree with all of the claims of this liquid lipstick. I received the shade 005 (they have 6 shades in total). This is a dusky pink tone and I love the colour against my skin tone. It’s rare that I find a pink tone that I do not need to find a deeper lip liner to match it, but this particular shade matched my skin tone very well.
The formula is very comfortable to wear. It feels like a moisturising cream liquid lipstick which leaves a slight gloss, but stays in place all day. I personally didn’t feel the need to top up my colour throughout the day, as I enjoyed the way in which it wore down. However this would be a very comfortable formula to top up. One issue I’d say is that you would really need to exfoliate your lips as it does tend to settle into fine lines and is not very forgiving if you have any dry skin on your lips. As this is a twist up applicator, so you may find that you may be twisting for a while before the liquid lipstick appears when you first try it! Find it here

Overall I enjoyed the products I tried from Lola Make Up, and would love to try more of their range in the future. You can find their range online here.
