With a name like Clay Rubber, I found this product impossible to resist! Also, I have loved all the LIXIR products so far because they are super effective and they look so pretty! I have been testing out the new LIXIR Soft Clay Rubber which is great for de-congesting and purifying the skin. Here’s the lowdown.
This is a two in one exfoliator and mask designed to unblock pores.
LIXIR Soft Clay Rubber Features
- Rub-off formula cream
- Combines enzymatic and mechanical exfoliation
- 3 step action
- Keratolytic enzymes break down the keratin of dead cells that blocks pores
- White clay clears congestion, draws out impurities and reduces excess sebum
- When dry, turns into a non-abrasive, mechanical exfoliant that you rub off
- Works to reduce the appearance of pores and imperfections
- Clears and purifies the skin
- Refines skin texture
This is really lovely to use especially if you love really fresh and clean-feeling products. It is instantly zingy and uplifting on the skin which is thanks to the mint and bergamot it uses. I feel like it really kick starts my skin’s circulation.
You simply apply a generous layer over clean skin, massage and pat it onto the skin for a minute or so and then allow it to dry for a minute or two longer. Then the fun starts! Once it’s dry, you can start to rub off the product which balls up and drops into the sink. LIXIR say that at this point you can gently squeeze any blackheads but I didn’t do that because I can’t trust myself not to go mad!! Also, it is a pretty full on product, and my skin could really feel it, so I didn’t want to do anything that would irritate it. If you have sensitive skin, you will want to go easy.
Once most of the product was rubbed off, you just rinse off. If your skin is super congested, you can reapply and this time leave it as a mask for five minutes and then rinse away.
The LIXIR Soft Clay Rubber left my skin feeling super smooth and fresh and it really felt like it had cleaned out the pores. My complexion was pretty pink after, but once I had done my skincare, it had calmed down. It also felt like my skin was really able to effectively absorb my serums and creams.
The LIXIR Soft Clay Rubber is £28 and available here. The range is also stocked at Liberty here.
