I really wanted to try the Laura Geller Double Take Baked Powder Foundation because it can be used wet and dry for different finishes. Also apparently it is the first foundation to have been baked on a terracotta tile. I like something a bit different! Here’s the low down. Find it here

I love the idea that you can choose your finish with this foundation. Dry application promises medium to full coverage, and wet application, which I was instantly drawn to, promises more enhanced coverage.

In spite of the fact that I probably don’t need full coverage, I simply prefer full coverage products applied with a light hand. I like skin to look like skin, but I want it to look like abnormally perfect skin!!

The way this is created – it is baked for 24 hours from a liquid to a powder – means that there’s nothing added to it to bind it or fill it, so what you get is pretty much pure pigment. It comes with a double sided sponge and you are told to use the pink side for dry application and the white side for wet.

I had a little go with the sponge dampened, as I am more of a liquid foundation fan. A few drops of water reactivates the liquid component of the foundation and you can then apply it like a liquid.

The next time I tried it, I used a wet Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and liked it even more. I haven’t tried it dry yet, and if I do, I’d imagine it will be more for the t-zone after foundation for shine control and enhanced coverage.

The above picture shows it applied wet with a brush, and also the new Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer Hydrate, the Charlotte Tilbury Seductive Beauty Instant Palette, YSL The Shock in Rough Burgundy on the lashes. YSL Couture Brow Marker and Charlotte Tilbury Valentine on the lips.

I like this foundation because the finish is lovely and natural and it feels super light and comfortable. I think it would be great for travelling as it has a two-in-one powder and foundation functionality, and also has super convenient packaging with a mirror. I’m still a liquid girl at heart though.

Laura Geller Double Take Baked Powder Foundation is £28 and launches in the UK from February 2017. Find Laura Geller HERE and HERE.
