Anybody else suffering with dry skin and chapped lips? This time of year comes with a few unwelcome guests- tax returns, post Christmas diets, cold grey weather and chapped lips. Thanks a bunch January, so generous. Dry central heated environments and cold biting winds are guaranteed to parch even the oiliest skin. So, as you can imagine I was clapping my little dry hands together with glee when I was given the chance to try out a range of products by Lanolips.

Perfect natural lips

Lanolips products are, unsurprisingly, based on super hydrating Sheep based ingredient Lanolin. Lanolin is fantastic for dry skin, here’s why:

  • The molecular structure of lanolin mimics human skin lipids, making it the most skin-compatible ingredient around. More so than any other natural or synthetic ingredient in skincare.
  • It is semi-occlusive and semi-permeable – meaning it allows skin to self-hydrate from within.
  • It is a moisture reservoir, holding up to 400% its weight in moisture.

Lanolips derive ultra medical grade Lanolin from wool, it’s totally cruelty free and natural. The founder of Lanolips spent time as a child on her grandparents’ sheep farm and knew how great Lanolin was for the skin. All Lanolips products are made in Australia and are 100% natural, free of cruelty, parabens, petrolatum, pegs, mineral oil and sulphates. Lanolips have won numerous beauty awards for their lanolin based dry skin products.

Lanolips Lanolin Dry Skin Products Review

The Lanolips packaging is cute and kitsch with 1950s styling. I think it looks lady like. The Lanolips logo is a cute sheep with eyelashes. Aww!  I had a range of Lanolips products to try, you can see from the pictures how pretty they all are, here’s how I got on..

Lanolips 101 Ointment- Multipurpose Superbalm

Lanolips 101 Ointment
Lanolips 101 Ointment

£10.99 for 15g HERE

Ingredients- Pure Lanolin

101 Ointment is Lanolips’ original product and has won several beauty awards. It’s a good all rounder and can be used anywhere- lips, chapped elbows, dry nostrils, patches of eczema, you name it- 101 has got you covered. The tube is a perfectly portable handbag size. There is no smell or taste to the ointment whatsoever. It’s a dense balm and needs a bit of warming to make it spreadable. My lips have been really dry and sore recently and I’ve had 101 ointment on my person permanently. It moisturises like nothing else. My itchy flaky lips are immediately soothed and hydrated. My little girl has had a sore under her nose and I’ve been using 101 balm knowing it’s totally safe for kids and babies. Find it here

Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Treatment

£8.99 for 12.5g HERE

Ingredients- Ultra Pure Lanolin, almond oil, shea butter, beeswax, Vitamin E, Organic Lemon Oil and Shimmer

Lemonaid Lip Treatment is more of a cosmetic product but is still packed with super moisturising ultra pure lanolin. Lemonaid contains some natural fruit acid to help exfoliate flaky lips. It smells lemony fresh and has a glossy finish with a touch of shimmer. It has a thinner consistency than 101. The bottle has an applicator tip so you can apply straight from the tube. I’ve worn it over lipstick and alone, I have also applied Lemonaid before going to bed and woken with the most soft lips ever. Find it here

Lano Rose Hand Cream Intense

Lanolips Rose Hand Cream Intense

£9.18 for 50ml HERE

Ingredients- Triple Lanolin + Rose Oil blend Rose hand cream intense (there’s also a lighter, not intense, version) is an extremely moisturising hand cream. I feel like a proper lady wearing this hand cream, a lady with extremely soft hands at that. The rose scent isn’t overpowering, it settles into a subtle powdery sort of smell. Rose hand cream mostly sinks into the skin quickly and leaves a protective barrier. It’s a good hand cream to have about when going out in cold weather, or slathering on before/after washing up. Lano Golden Dry Skin Salve

Lanolips Golden Skin Salve
Lanolips Golden Skin Salve

£17.99 for 50g HERE

Ingredients- Quadruple Lanolin, Vitamin E and Manuka Honey

Golden Skin Salve is a powerhouse of moisturisation (is that even a word?). It’s similar to the 101 ointment in that it has a firm consistency and takes a bit of warming up before applying. It reminds me of the classic Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream and has a similar golden colour. Golden skin salve can be used for all sorts of skin problems- dry skin, eczema, sores, cuts, dry heels. Anything that needs moisture and soothing essentially, Golden Salve has you covered. You can use it as a rich nourishing overnight facial mask by applying a generous amount before going to bed and wash off in the morning. Golden skin salve is very rich and has a slight sweet smell of honey. Find it here

Lanolips makes award winning dry skin products with really cute retro packaging. I have found all the products I have tried an absolute godsend in the last few winter weeks. Everyone I have given a blob of cream to to try has been impressed by how soft it makes their skin and lips.
