Oh I do hope you are not getting bored of my US purchases! Because I’m not! Sorry if you are but I got some really interesting stuff and who knows, it may all be heading our way! Here I have the L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation.

The first thing I noticed was that it’s in a squeezy tube. I haven’t tried the original Infallible foundation (I don’t think), but I do know it’s in a glass bottle. I think I like the tube but somehow it feels a bit less special. I am a big fan of the information on the packaging though.
L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation Features

- Demi-matte finish
- 24 hour wear
- Medium coverage
- Air light texture
And all of that is super easy to deduce from this new packaging style. It makes things so much easier for the consumer. I am assuming that L’Oreal are going to go this way with all their products?
I think what drew me to the L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation was the promise of demi-matte finish which I always think is a great compromise between going overboard on dewiness and the flat matte that no-one wants.

Before:

With L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation in Classic Ivory 101 applied:

Now I think I really like this. Classic Ivory 101 is possibly just a tad too light for me as I needed quite a bit of bronzer to bring my face back to life, but once I had finished with the rest of my makeup, I was actually really pleased with the finish.
As promised it isn’t a flat matte and allows the natural radiance of the skin to shine through. It covers redness and pigmentation really well and delivers very even-toned skin which is just what I like. The problems I have with it are that it can cling to dry patches and it does tend to sink into enlarged pores. I don’t usually have dry patches (but have a little around my nose) but I always have enlarged pores (much to my dissatisfaction!).
So people with dry skin or enlarged pores may not love this – and when I use L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte next there’ll be lots of moisturiser and also primer in the t zone.
It lasted really well, and looked pretty intact by the end of the day. I obviously didn’t test the 24 hour claim but it is certainly long lasting. I shall try and find out and plan for the UK.
If you like matte but hate pores, check out the Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless.
