What I love about the beauty industry the most is its constant quest for innovation and I have managed to cultivate quite a thirst for ‘new’. It’s pretty hard to come across something that is genuinely new and sometimes the ‘newness’ element actually forces a compromise on quality. However, the new textures and techniques that L’Occitane Whipped Shea Butter use are just amazing! I am seriously in love!

L’Occitane Whipped Shea Butter Collection
The L’Occitane Whipped Shea Butter has 3 products in its range – Whipped Shower Foam (£14), Whipped Hand Cream (£8) and Whipped Body Cream (£18).
I am a bit slack when it comes to hand cream (tut tut) and often just do my hands with my body or face product, so the ones I have been testing are the Shower Foam and the Body Cream. And they are completely gorgeous!!

It’s not that often I get excited about body washes, athough I am still pretty obsessed with the L’Occitane Aromacholgy Revalitalizing Shower Gel for its mood boosting power. But this one is a whole different experience. The texture is utterly amazing. It’s dispenses as a foam, as you’ve probably guessed from the name, but this is no ordinary foam.
This is thick and creamy and literally feels like silk on my skin. It is enriched with the moisturising power of Shea Butter and I can genuinely feel it softening my skin while it gently cleanses it. It’s a really wonderful experience without getting too ‘over the top’! It gives to to skin rather than taking away. Utterly delightful!

Again, I am in love. It reminds of the lightest moussey dessert to look at. Just the sight of it gets my beauty pulse racing! It simply melts (and I really mean melts) into the skin, instantly soothing and moisturising. The soft smell of shea is incredible – it’s like babies but better. Although I am a huge fan of body butters, they can be a little tricky to work into the skin, however, this just does all the work for you. It’s just incredible.
It contains 10% Shea Butter and is perfect for the driest and most sensitive skins.
The new texture was discovered in Burkina Faso where L’Occitane have been using fair trade Shea Butter for 25 years. During one of the steps in the production of shea butter, the women whip the paste and this inspired the L’Occitane labs try to recreate the soft lightness of mousse without losing any of the efficacy of the shea. I think they certainly achieved their goal.
