So!! L’Occitane have discovered the power of peony and it is all about skin perfection. Enzymatic hydrolysis allows the molecules of peony extract to be broken down into micro-fragments that are even more active on the skin. 5 years of research has brought us the Perfecting Peony Complex which is the core of the new L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime range.
In terms of skin perfection, we are talking skin hydration, the correction of uneven skin texture, the refinements of pores and wrinkles and all round enhancement of the complexion.
L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Skin Perfecting Ingredients
- Peony extract – corrects skin texture
- Hylauronic Acid – for hydration
- Horse Chestnut Extract – for a fresh glow and the reduction of complexion irregularities
- Mineral-based pigments and inferential pearlisers – to reflect light and adapt to different skin tones
- Natural Powders – for instant smoothing
What is really interesting about L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime is that it uses what is being termed as a 100% natural ‘intelligent; texture that is actually able to adapt its performance to climate and humidity levels, so the results should be consistent in any circumstance.

This CC cream comes with SPF 20 protection, moisturising ability and colour correcting pigments and pearlescent particles to perfect the skin.
You can use this as a smoothing and illuminating base for makeup, or alone for a no-makeup skin perfected look. It comes out as a white cream and then adapts to skin tone as it is blended to conceal imperfections.
L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime CC Cream Before & After Photos
This is seriously brightening and does a great job of evening out irregularities and covering redness. It has a fairly matte finish so I like to make sure I have applied a decent amount of moisturiser first. Then I need the smallest amount of foundation to complete my base. I find that my makeup lasts really well when I apply this first.
There’s also a beautiful Perfecting Mist (£14) in the range that can be used during the day to boost hydration and refresh the complexion. It is also great for setting makeup.
L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime launches in April 2015. Find L’Occitane HERE at John Lewis.
