I have been testing skincare newness for sensitive, compromised skin and I am super impressed. Here’s the low down on the Kate Somerville DeliKate Recovery Cream, Serum and Cleanser. If your skin is needing a bit of TLC then this is for you.

First of all, how pretty is this packaging? Just the sight of it makes me happy and I love this soft pastel lilac shade.

Kate created the DeliKate range for use in her clinic to calm post-peel skin or treat inflamed skin conditions. She says, “It’s a game changer for putting out the fire and calming irritation.”
The concept grew to include those that were compromising their skin at home by over-exfoliating and trying out too many different skincare products in unsuitable combinations. So beyond the clinic the Recovery Cream is now on offer for those that have been over-dabbling with acids, retinols or vitamin C, with more products being added.
What’s in the Kate Somerville DeliKate Collection?
Described as an SOS recovery system for stressed, sensitised skin. The DeliKate range includes:
- Recovery Cream £69
- Soothing Cleanser £33
- Recovery Serum £70
The range is available now at Space NK*, Kate Somerville* and Cult Beauty*.
DELIKATE
I have to say, I think the hero of this collection is the DeliKate Recovery Cream which I just want to describe as luscious – in bold! It has the most stunning semi-balmy texture that makes skin look and feel calm and glossy in the best way imaginable. Even if you didn’t have sensitive skin, this cream would be up your street if you love a juicy-looking glow.

DeliKate Recovery Cream
This is an SOS calming cream formulated with a combination of soothing peptides and three essential ceramides.
- Peptide Complex + Ceramides relieve redness, calm irritation & restore skin’s protective barrier
- Ginger root, green tea extracts and honey help to to reduce irritation
- Tasmannia Lanceolate Fruit Extract helps calm skin

As I already said, the cream has such a beautiful texture. It is firm in the pot, yet it melts effortlessly into the skin and creates the most flattering glow. Skin feels soothed and quenched and I found this ideal for tackling a bit of dryness and flaking that I was experiencing from a little over-zealous dabble with a new retinol a few nights on the trot.
A couple of days of this cream got my skin back to smooth and radiant. It’s a life saver. Also, it is wonderful under makeup and works really well as a primer. Yay. It creates a protective barrier over the skin, like a liquid glove, whilst also allowing the soothing and repairing ingredients to penetrate the skin quickly.
If you have cystic acne, Kate recommends you test this first as it may be too heavy. However, she does recommend it for acne-prone skin as it has great healing and anti-inflammatory properties.
Please note, if you are looking for an anti-ageing product, this isn’t it because it has no actives and is all about soothing , building the barrier and recovery. This should be something you keep in your arsenal of products for when skin is stressed, or it needs soothing after stronger anti-ageing treatments.
The DeliKate Recovery Cream is £69 and available now at Kate Somerville* and Cult Beauty*.

DeliKate Soothing Cleanser
This is a gorgeous gentle cleanser that feels really wonderful on the skin.
- Formulated with three essential ceramides
- Helps to relieve visible redness and irritation
- Works to restore the skin’s protective barrier

Kate Somerville knows how to do a gentle cleanser, which you will know if you have ever tried the gorgeous Goat Milk Cleanser*. This is even more gentle than the Goat Milk as it contains no actives at all.
Goat Milk is more active as it contains natural lactose. That is too active if you have had a a peel or being using a lot of retinol or vitamin c to a point where the skin is compromised. It is great for sensitive skin, for not for sensitised, injured skin, which is where the DeliKate cleanser comes in.
The DeliKate Cleanser is a really effective way to deep clean the skin without stripping it of essential moisture, while ceramides boost the skin barrier. It’s lovely.
Available now at Kate Somerville* and Cult Beauty* for £33.
DeliKate Recovery Serum
So there’s quite a funny story with this serum because I have been using and thinking, this is SO like the Kx Omegas and Ceramides Serum which is one of my favourite Kate Somerville products. Well it turns out that it is actually that very serum and that it’s joining the DeliKate family. I thought I recognised it!!

- Help restore stressed, sensitised skin
- Peptides, ceramides and omegas work to help restore skin’s protective barrier
It’s a beautiful serum and one I always reach for when my skin is a bit stressed or sensitive. It works perfectly under the Recovery Cream. If you already have Kx Omegas and Ceramides Serum then you are in luck, and you may well have it as they have previously used it in a Gift with Purchase Friends and Family promotion.
It is £70 and available now at Kate Somerville* and Cult Beauty*.
