Although the anti-ageing concept for hair is relatively new compared to its skincare equivalent, it’s now going great guns and I am completely on board. The brand new Julien Farel Magnifique Fortifying Serum is what I would call the ultimate anti-ageing elixir for hair and what I love about it so much is that results come very quickly indeed! Let me tell you more!

Julien Farel Magnifique Fortifying Serum Review

So the entire Julien Farel line is based on the use of anti-ageing skincare ingredients in hair and scalp care products. The new serum, alongside the Julian Farel Vitamin Restore, which I use as a treatment, features the JF signature breakthrough  ‘Anti-Aging Balance ‘A2B’ technology’. This allows powerful Bioactives to be delivered deep into the follicle, scalp and hair because the ‘A2B’ molecule is small enough to penetrate the surface and reach the deep layers of the skin.

Julien Farel Magnifique Fortifying Serum Features

Julien Farel Magnifique Fortifying Serum Review
  • Stimulates and enhances the production of pigmentation in the hair to delay greying and improve hair’s youthful texture and appearance
  • Hyaluronic acid actively hydrates and improves elasticity of skin to create the healthy scalp you need for healthy hair growth
  • Echinacea stem cells promote the synthesis of new collagen and microcirculation, nourishing follicles to sustain a healthy growth cycle
  • Protects against the damaging effects of environmental elements that make hair dry, weak & brittle
  • Magnesium reduces inflammation and is essential in creating strong follicles and hair that stays in the growth phase longer
  • Zinc accelerates skin renewal and adds moisture
  • Arginine improves blood flow and nourishes the scalp
  • Iron delivers nutrients and oxygen to follicles

There is a whole lot going on here but all you really need to think about is that the serum delivers a serious shot of active ingredients deep into the scalp and gives the hair the best environment in which to grow healthy and strong. Nourished scalp = better hair.

Julien Farel Magnifique Fortifying Serum Review

You’d imagine that this may take a while before you see any results but I have been using Julien Farel Magnifique Fortifying Serum for 3 and a half weeks, twice a week, and I have seen its effects already.

I am lucky because my hair is relatively thick, but it is heavy and often it lies pretty flat on my head unless I  use some kind of texturising product. However, since the very first time I used Julien Farel Magnifique Fortifying Serum, my roots are volumised and full and my hair is so smooth and shiny that I look like I have blow dried it even when I have just let it dry naturally. It’s quite incredible.

It is really easy to use and is completely weightless and invisible. I just use the dropper to part my hair and apply along the roots in section and it feels cool and soothing. I then use my fingers to massage it in and then carry on with my normal routine (oil and heat protection). I have a hair tutorial video coming up that shows my hair before I have styled it, and you’ll see how full it looks without any product other than the Julien Farel Magnifique Fortifying Serum. I will link that when it is live.

I absolutely love this stuff. My hair feels thicker, stronger and fuller in less than a month. Also, I am interested to see how the anti-grey claim plays out. Although I am not so sure how I’d measure that because I have had the odd grey since I was about 17!!

Julien Farel Magnifique Fortifying Serum is £80 so it is certainly not cheap, but if you were experiencing thinning hair, I think this would be a worthy investment. I have seen nothing but better hair since I started using it. It is exclusive to Selfridges online and in store. I think they are still waiting for stock online.
