Jo Malone Velvet Rose & Oud is one of my favourite deep, intense fragrances and so I was extremely excited to learn that the range has been extended to include a Home Candle and a Dry Body Oil. I have been testing out the Jo Malone Velvet Rose & Oud Dry Oil and it is a really gorgeous way to wear the fragrance.

So Velvet Rose & Oud is pretty incredible and defintely one you need to smell if you like deeper, darker scents that deliver a real feeling of sensuality.

Jo Malone Velvet Rose & Oud Notes

  • Darkest Damask Rose
  • Smoky Oud
  • Clove
  • Praline

I have worn the cologne quite a lot in the past but I have actually found the Dry Body Oil to be even more long lasting. I am addicted to moisturising my body and can’t go 5 minutes without doing it after I step out of the shower. I find this a brilliant way to kill 2 birds with one stone and it means that when I use it, I haven’t had the worry of remembering fragrance. When I’m in a real rush, I sometimes forget perfume and it makes me feel as useless as if I’d forgotten mascara. Bad times! The texture of the Dry Body Oil is spot on – really moisturising but doesn’t leave behind a greasy veil. Perfect!

The Jo Malone Velvet Rose & Oud ancillaries are out now. The Dry Body Oil is £48, as is the Home Candle. Find them at John Lewis. As I said, it’s a gorgeously deep and sensual fragrance, so if you are looking for something a bit heady for sexy summer skin, then I couldn’t recommend it enough.
