What an absolutely beautiful collaboration this is! Jo Malone London have cosied up with artist and print maker Marthe Armitage for a quintessentially British limited edition collection. It looks gorgeous! Here’s the low down on the Jo Malone Marthe Armitage range which you can find here
The collection is titled ‘Summer Afternoon’ and is inspired by the Henry James quote –
“Summer afternoon—summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language.”
Right now, I have to say I completely agree. My garden is in bloom, the blossomed branches are dancing in the breeze and the bees are buzzing. I wish it could always be like this!
Marthe says, “I wanted to capture a perfect English summer afternoon. It needed to feel alive and also to weave in the ingredients from the Jo Malone London scents. This project has seen me exploring a world I’ve not experienced before and it’s been lovely”.
I adore the design that Marthe has created. It features children playing croquet and a gardener resting on a bench amongst beautiful blossoms and roses. Although she is now in her eighties, she has managed to create something with a very modern feel. There are a range of colourways but I am in love with this contrast of coral and pistachio. Summer perfection!
