Rain in the UK is a fact of life and Jo Malone London have decided embrace it in all its raindrop glory, with a limited edition collection of fragrances called London Rain.

Jo Malone London Rain Limited Edition Fragrance Collection
There are four different fragrances in this very urban and edgy collection, each of which have their own rain personality – dew at dawn, a morning shower, an afternoon cloudburst and a midnight storm – Rain & Angelica, Wisteria & Violet, White Jasmine & Mint and Black Cedarwood & Juniper respectively.

Jo Malone London Rain – Rain & Angelica
I think the crowd pleaser is going to be Rain & Angelica, not least because it has the actual rain accord in it. “Glassy beads of dew, awakening a London park at dawn.”
Top Note: Rain Accord
Heart Note: Angelica
Base Note: Vetiver
I have to say, I really like this one. It has a lovely green freshness with an earthy base which makes it beautifully balanced. It is a very easy fragrance, and from listening to people’s reactions at the launch today, will probably be the most popular one of the collection.

My personal favourite is a heavier affair, characterised by midnight rain – Black Cedarwood & Juniper.
Top Note: Cumin
Heart Note: Juniper
Base Note: Cedarwood
It is deep and dense and packs a heady punch. Seductive and dark with a beautifully spicy dry down; I think the boys will love this one too.
The other 2 fragrances – Wisteria & Violet, with Lily, Wisteria and Patchouli will please the floral fan and White Jasmin & Mint is quite a unisex number. Fresh Mint leaf, Heirloom Jasmine and Maté Leaf – it’s very different. I don’t think I’d wear a fragrance with mint, but I’d love this as a shower gel.
Jo Malone’s London Rain is a lovely modern collection and I think it will do very well, particularly as it is limited edition. I’m afraid there’s quite a wait though. London Rain will be available from March 2014 and each cologne will retail for £82 (100ml).
