We are finally getting our summer in the UK but it’s time to look forward to what Jo Malone London have cooked up for us for Autumn 2017. Launching in September is the Jo Malone English Oak Collection which features English Oak & Redcurrant and English Oak & Hazelnut. Here’s what you need to know.
I think it is super exciting to see Oak being used in fragrance as it is such an icon of the British landscape. Often we see Sandalwood and Cedarwood, so Oak makes the perfect British twist for Jo Malone London. The two fragrances, created by Master Perfumer Yann Vasnier, bring different aspects of Oak’s unique contribution to perfumery. Both evoke the noble magic of the forest.
Jo Malone English Oak & Hazelnut
This one is my favourite of the two. Described as earthy, enticing and enchanting, it captures the creaminess of the hazlenut in a fresh, green way.

- Top note – Green Hazelnut
- Heart note – Cedarwood
- Base note – Roasted Oak Absolute

It has a warm yet fresh skin-like softness and I think it would work well on both men and woman. This is the sexy one in my opinion. English Oak & Hazelnut comes just as a cologne, and English Oak & Redcurrant comes as a cologne, hand and body wash, body creme and home candle.
Jo Malone English Oak & Redcurrant
The first of the fragrances is English Oak and Redcurrant which is described as bright, embracing and bewitching.
- Top note – Redcurrant
- Heart note – Rose
- Base note – Roasted Oak Absolute
It is fruity with a edgy, earthy twist and I love the addition of rose.
