Jo Malone Basil and Neroli promises to be the brand’s biggest launch of the year and I am so excited about it. It is subtitled as ‘A London lark’ and depicts London ‘at its most fashionably young and fun’. Here’s what you need to know!
This is a gorgeously fresh and lively fragrance. And it’s quite a moment for Jo Malone as it’s the first time the brand has used basil since it broke the mould with Lime, Basil & Mandarin twenty years ago! It is also the first time they have created a citrus floral scent.
Jo Malone Basil and Neroli Notes
Master Perfumer Anne Flipo decribes Basil and Neroli as “A fresh, sophisticated, sensual floral with green facets—stunning in its simplicity.”
- Top notes – Basil
- Heart notes – Neroli
- Base notes – White Musk
Basil really is the star of this show with two different types in the top note. The heart features a beautiful bitter orange accord, along with an exclusive headspace of basil and neroli. There’s a beautiful Vetiver in the base that gives it an earthy and edgy twist.
Jo Malone Basil and Neroli is the most unisex fragrance in the brand’s line up, so I think it will have equal appeal for men and women alike. Although it is super modern, it’s playful too with lots of fun and adventure so will appeal to the young. At the same time, the quintessentially British vibe of the campaign introduces an element of London nostalgia to attract the older customer too. I personally love it!
The Jo Malone Basil and Neroli collection will be available from September 2016. The Cologne 30ml is £43/€54, Cologne 100ml £86/€109, Body & Hand Wash 250ml £28/ €35, the Body Crème 175ml is £50/€65 and the Home Candle 200g £42/€52. Find it HERE.
