I’m always searching for my ideal skincare routine so when the opportunity to try a new range pops up, I usually jump at the chance. Image skincare was founded by Janna Ronert, a global speaker on health and beauty and her husband, Dr. Marc Ronert, is the company’s Medical Director and President. The founding philosophies of simplicity, value and results are still just as paramount as when the company was founded. Image skincare describe themselves as an
“Evidence-based clinical skincare company, providing professional skincare products and effective skincare solutions.”
All products are paraben free. I will be looking at four of their products today, but that is just a small sample of the different options they have available covering a wide range of skin types and concerns.
Image Skincare Vital C Hydrating Oil
First up is the Vital C Hydrating Oil. This is a paraben and mineral oil free facial oil. A combination of moringa, sea buckthorn and grapeseed oil, alongside stabilised antioxidants are used to brighten and rejuvenate ageing skin. It can also be used as a massage oil to rejuvenate tired skin. It’s for dry, dehydrated or sensitive skin, however my skin type is combination so it wasn’t something I could fully test out on a daily basis. I did however use it as an intensive overnight treatment and my skin looked quite radiant when I washed my face the next day.
Vital C Hydrating Enzyme Mask
From the Vital C range, I also tried the Vital C Hydrating Enzyme Mask. I have mentioned several times my love of face masks in past reviews so I was excited to trial another one! This mask removes dead cells while treating the skin with essential vitamins and minerals. It gently exfoliates a build-up of dull/ dry skin whilst providing continuous hydration for several hours afterwards. Containing vitamins, A, C and E for the promotion of healthier, radiant, youthful looking skin it suits a wide range of skin types:
- Sensitive/ rosacea
- Dry/ dehydrated
- Post- peel/ post- operative
- Oily/ acne
Following the directions, I applied to freshly cleansed skin and left for 20 minutes. The instructions state anything between 5- 30 minutes is fine so this mask is good if you don’t have a lot of time for pampering. I liked how my skin felt after this mask, I noticed my t- zone stayed matte for longer which is always a plus in my eyes, and I have continued to use it 1-2 times a week.
Salicylic Clarifying Pads
Moving on to cleansing, I tried the Salicylic Clarifying Pads. These are cleansing pads containing Salicylic and Glycolic acid to remove excess oil and impurities. They deep clean pores to leave the skin feeling fresh and clean and also contain a blend of ingredients which helps reduce acneic inflammation. An AHA/BHA blend gently removes bacteria and excess oil, it also helps reduce the production of oil. These are suitable for the following skin types:
- Acne prone
- Acne grades I and II
- Teen skin
Recommendations are to use one pad a day to begin with. If you are using in the morning then you are advised to follow up with a broad-spectrum sun cream. If you notice any irritation you are advised to reduce to once every other day. I did find these pads left my skin tingling, however no worse than the old Oxy10 pads from the 90’s (if anyone is old enough to remember those!). It was a slight tingle but faded by the time I got around to doing my moisturiser. Results with these were good and I have continued to use them.
Intense Brightening Exfoliating Powder
Finally, I have the Intense Brightening Exfoliating Powder, yes you read that right, an exfoliating powder! It took me a bit of time to get my head around the fact it was a powder product but bear with me. This is a unique polishing powder that cleanses and gently exfoliates, it buffs away dead skin cells to leave the skin refreshed and radiant. It’s a soft micro- exfoliating blend that provides hydration and anti- ageing benefits all the while removing oil and debris from pores. As such it is suitable for all skin types.
The powder is shaken into wet palms. You then rub your palms together to emulsify and then apply to skin. The powder has a very fine texture so doesn’t feel rough on the skin. The results were good, however the smell did put me off a bit- it smells like a very sweet biscuit, something I’m not too keen on.
I was impressed with the products I tried. Given that the company prides itself on only marketing products with proven results I wasn’t surprised. I will keep using the products I have as they work for me, I’ll also be checking out the other ranges too. You can find Image Skincare products here
