Here’s just a quick little shout out to a very important date in the professional makeup artistry calendar – The Illamasqua Distinction in Makeup Artistry Awards 2014. It’s this Saturday 4th October 2014. Keep reading to see  how you can attend, or take part in the facebook public vote.

The awards are back for their 3rd year running with a judging panel that includes Illamasqua’s very own Alex Box, Julian Kynaston and Spob (who I completely love!!).

It’s a wonderful opportunity to see true makeup artistry in action and professionals, students and amateurs apply their makeup creations and showcase their skills live on stage.

Illamasqua Distinction in Makeup Artistry Awards 2014 – Categories

There are 3 categories:

Working Professional Makeup Artist – (Makeup Artists actively working within the Film, TV, Fashion, Editorial, Theatre & Beauty Industries). PRIZE – A Day assisting Illamasqua Creative Director Alex Box

Makeup Student – (Students currently enrolled on a full or part time makeup course). PRIZE – Two-week internship at Illamasqua Head Quarters

Non-Professional – (Beauty Bloggers, Bloggers, Self-taught artists and makeup enthusiasts). PRIZE – Five-day course in Mastering Professional Makeup at The Illamasqua School of Makeup Art

Each winner also receives £1,000 cash prize & £250 (RRP) worth of Illamasqua makeup.

The entries for Illamasqua Distinction in Makeup Artistry Awards 2014 are now closed but there is still an opportunity to see this makeup extravaganza for yourself and members of the public are able to purchase tickets here. They cost £30 each and you’ll have access to a full day of makeup with Non-Professional: 11:10 – 12 Noon, Student: 13:40 – 14:30, Professional: 16:10 – 17:00, Illamasqua Team: 18:40 – 19:30.  It’s a beauty buff’s paradise!! I wish I was available to go!!

If you can’t make it, you can still take part because from Saturday 4th October 2014 until midnight Monday 13th October 2014 fans of the Illamasqua Facebook page will be invited to “like” their favourite look in a public vote. That will most definitely be worth a look if you are in the market for a bit of creative inspiration.
