As one of the UK’s most innovative cosmetic brands, Illamasqua has always been ahead of the curve when it comes to makeup trends. I find picking the perfect shade of lipstick quite hard when I venture away from nude and go vibrant. Often colours are too dark or not quite right – have you ever thought ‘that shade is gorgeous but it’s too dark for me!’? Perhaps you’re contemplating a deep berry shade but don’t have the nerve?

Illamasqua have released a white – yes white version of their super comfortable, creamy and vibrant Anti-Matter Lipsticks. The shade, suitably named Eclipse is perfect for toning down shades and adapting them to your preference.

What I’ve found even more fabulous about this shade is that you can create an ombré lip with minimal effort. I branched out and even did a lighter top lip for an edgier look.

The pink shade I paired it with is the beautiful Physical, also from their Anti Matter line. It’s a bright but deep fuchsia with a blue undertone which really enhances the whiteness in my teeth.

I would highly recommend using a lip brush with the Eclipse shade otherwise you’ll end up ruining the lipstick if you apply directly over another shade. However, if you’re brave enough to wear a white lipstick on its own then this is a super comfortable and opaque option for you.

It’s definitely a great concept, after all it’s not uncommon to lighten foundations that have oxidised so why not change your lipstick – and save money from not needing to buy two different shades at the same time?
