Ready for the change in season, Illamasqua presents the new Illamasqua Aftermath collection, which is driven by rich earthy tones and molten metallics. I have a selection of products from the stunning collection to show you.
Illamasqua is known for its cruelty-free makeup with a focus on colour. The packaging is shiny black and its imagery gives me colourful goth vibes. When a makeup brand is as outré as Illamasqua, new offerings generate a fair bit of excitement.
Illamasqua Aftermath Collection- Metallic Eye Shadows
“A window to the blazing spirit within”
There are three new metallic shadows in the Aftermath collection- a bronze, silver and gold. I have the silver, titled “Enchantment” and the bronze “Superstitious”. Enchantment is a grey/silver metallic with glitter particles and Superstition is a warm dark brown/bronze. These shadows are gorgeous and will be perfect for autumnal sparkly smoky eyes. The packaging is square flip top compacts with a clear lid. The glitter is definitely visible, which I like, having hooded eyelids the glitter really catches the eye.
Here are some eye looks I created with the shades- 1. Enchantment, 2. Superstitious
My preference leans towards Superstition, it catches the warmth in my brown eyes and gives a lovely gold sparkle. £17 each.
Illamasqua Aftermath Collection- Broken Eye Gel in Gold
“Molten liquid rises from the earth’s crust, taking metal to a new dimension”
Broken Eye gel is an eye catching gold gel with different sized glitter particles. It creates a gold leaf effect and gives a really nice gold foil effect. It comes in a clear tube with a brush applicator. You can use the gel wherever you wish- the eyelids, Cupid’s bow, inner eye, brow bone or along the cheekbones. It does take a while to dry down, so it’s best not to blink until it has dried, otherwise it’s going crease. It looks great up on the brow bone, catching glints of light. £19 each.

Illamasqua Aftermath Collection- Lava Lipstick
“Magma fever erupts again as the sell out success Lava Lips returns in 3 new shades”
These stunning marbled lipsticks not only look really pretty but also create a subtle ombré. I have shades Emanate, Tectonic and Rebirth. Emanate is a warm brown and white swirl, which creates a coffee coloured lip. Tectonic is a blue toned pink/purple and white swirl. Rebirth is a beautiful gothy black and true red.
It surprised me how well the shades blended together, I was worried that they would be stripey. Rebirth came out as a bright red with a slight day ombre- definitely for a vampy look. Tectonic is a wearable blue toned pink that you could get away with in the daytime. Illamasqua Lava Lipstick is densely pigmented and creamy with a glossy finish. As with most creamy lipsticks, they will transfer and using a lip liner will help to keep them in place. £20 each.

Aftermath by Illamasqua is a stunning new collection. I particularly like Superstition metallic eyeshadow and the Lava lipstick looks so cool. Available from 17th August here
