Marilyn Monroe has long been considered an iconic beauty. How To Marry A Millionaire is one of her most famous films and now it’s been translated into fragrance form.
The bottle of this fragrance is a substantial glass affair with a flat front and back and a crystal embossed M on the cap. It looks classically stylish but with a modern twist, making it suitable for all ages. I found it fitted quite nicely into my bag for everyday use due to it’s slimline design. Find it here
How To Marry A Millionaire Notes
This is the kind of sultry scent you imagine Marilyn herself would have worn. The top notes include green mandarin and marine accord. These are designed to entice and enchant the senses.
The middle notes are the heart of this perfume and jasmine entwines with the green mandarin and marine accord to “create a sumptuous crescendo of alluring headiness”.
The base notes are a cocktail of sandalwood, amber and salted vanilla. These add a musky headiness that leaves an intoxicating and lingering scent on the skin.
How To Marry A Millionaire Fragrance
I found the scent sweet but not too sickly; as a 34 year old I’ve outgrown those sweeter scents and now lean more towards clean or musky scents. This was more on the musky side but with a quite feminine aroma. I’ve worn it to work a few times and as an Optician I have a quite professional job. I actually had a few people ask what I was wearing, including one of the high end beauty assistants.
The fragrance lasted for a good few hours before I stopped noticing it, but on asking colleagues they were able to smell the fragrance, but without it being overpowering. I did notice that over time the muskier base notes came through and slightly altered the scent, but in a good way.
For the price the fact that this is an EDP makes it something I’ll definitely use for work and I’d be happy to recommend to others.
The EDP is available in either 50ml or 100ml and is priced from £20. Find it to order online here
