Hi guys it’s Liza here from www.lizaprideaux.com I’m a beauty blogger that also loves to write about parenting, lifestyle, interiors and fashion! Today I wanted to share with you my top makeup products that I’ve been loving during pregnancy and also share a few makeup tips with you to help you feel glam and fresh!

During pregnancy we all tend to go through different stages of feeling great, then feeling glum and not very fabulous. I’m currently 36 weeks pregnant and almost ready to pop with a very wiggly baby and I’m feeling pretty uncomfortable to be honest! Despite looking like a whale though (she doesn’t, she looks radiant, check out her pic above!-ed), I’ve managed to get my makeup on and make myself look a little more human again.

I thought I’d take you through a few steps I like to follow that are pretty simple and also share with you a few of my favourite products that I have been using this pregnancy to make my skin look and feel great.
When it comes to base products I like to keep things fairly simple. I already have a toddler and time is pretty minimal in the mornings so I tend to stick to a CC cream, or something that’s new to my collection and perfect for summer, which is the bareMinerals bareSkin Sheer Sun Serum Bronzer. This is a fab product to just add some warmth to the face and give an overall glow. I find when I use this I don’t need to add foundation or anything else as I can build up a nice amount of colour and even do some contouring by adding extra product where needed.

I also like to add some light to the skin and apply the Clarins Instant Light Brush On Perfector, this is ideal for brightening up under the eyes and works especially well on us mummas that have had limited sleep- it’s an essential!

Lastly, once the base is perfected with a nice colour, and blemishes and dark circles are concealed it’s time to add some glow. That pregnancy glow that everyone talks about? Some of us have to fake it, and I’m one of those ladies! I love to add a highlighter to the tops of my cheekbones, down the centre of the nose and on my cupids bow. This really helps to brighten up the face and create a really pretty and youthful complexion. My current favourite is the highlight stick by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley which is just completely gorgeous.

Finally, I like to keep the eyes and lips pretty simple, just adding a slick of mascara and a dash of gloss on the lips. I also think it’s a lovely idea to pop some highlighter just in the inner corners of the eyes and on the brow bone to really make myself look awake, it’s a great little trick and truly works!

pregnancy cliniqueEyes and base complete, it’s time to finish the look with lips. By using a gloss you keep the whole look fun and by adding a bright lip you can really take the focus away from the fact you have minimal makeup on. I use the Clinique Pop Lacquer Lip Colour, I find it really helps to make you look more put together which, let’s face it, is something we all need after a sleepless, uncomfortable night!

I hope you found these tips and tricks helpful and if you are currently pregnant, congratulations! If you aren’t pregnant, then these tips can also work for anyone that just wants an extra 5 minutes in bed- which I guess is everyone right?!
