I haven’t used Herbal Essences since I was A LOT younger but one of the brand’s newest launches, Herbal Essences Clearly Naked really managed to get my attention.

Obviously it was the word ‘Naked’ that got me! Urban Decay have an awful lot to answer for in giving that term a whole new and seriously attractive meaning within the world of beauty and cosmetics.

Herbal Essences Clearly Naked Formulation

So what does naked mean here in the new Herbal Essences Clearly Naked products? It means that there are a few things that have been left out of the formulation for the benefit of our hair. I think it’s pretty important to understand what those things are because that doesn’t actually include sulphates, which you might expect.

I have the Herbal Essences Clearly Naked Moisture Shampoo and the Herbal Essences Clearly Naked Volume Conditioner. The shampoo still contains sulphates but is free from parabens, silicone and colourants. The conditoner does however contain silicone, but is free from parabens and colourants.

I just wanted to make that clear because my initial thoughts when I read ‘Naked’ was that they were sulphate free. To be fair, I often use products that contain sulphates and don’t have any objection, apart from when my scalp is particularly sensitive. It is then that my head thanks me for skipping the sodium!

Anyway, aside from discussion about the ingredients, I really enjoyed using this duo.

The Herbal Essences Clearly Naked Moisture shampoo feels very mild yet very clarifying at the same time. I had rather a lot of different product in my hair and it removed all the build up effectively and gently.

The Herbal Essences Clearly Naked Volume Conditioner left my hair silky and soft and it was easy to comb through once I was out of the shower (with my Tangle Teezer of course!). I am not sure that it particularly volumised my hair, but after using both the products my hair was left super clean, smooth and very shiny.

They also both smell really fresh and lovely – the shampoo has herbal mint fusion extracts, and the conditioner has grapefruit and mint.

Herbal Essences Clearly Naked is available at Boots. There’s currently a 2 for £4 offer on.
